Cottage, 3 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

This cottage is the perfect getaway if you are looking for a private and secluded vacation spot! We are located at the end of the private Cherry Home Shores community right up against the forest with lots to explore! We have a large front deck with gorgeous views of Grand Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan. We provide 2 kayaks for plenty of family fun. There are 4 private beaches in the community for tenant use. There are tennis courts, sand volleyball, picnic areas, and a playground. There are also private hiking trails for wildlife viewing and bird watching. The neighborhood is perfect for biking, jogging or walking.

There are many attractions and activities in the Northport area. Our favorites include Sleeping Bear Dunes, many wineries to tour and do tastings, historic Fishtown in Leeland with shopping and lakefront restaurants, and marinas with boat rentals and fishing expeditions. There is also a casino and lighthouse museum to enjoy.

I am a retiree from Clarkston, MI. I have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren. We all love summer vacations in our cottage on the lake.

Why The Owner chose Northport

Cherry Home Shores appealed to me because of the quite and secluded area on the water. We have our own boat and kayaks to enjoy the lake.

Great family getaway!

We had a great time. Adult and kid friendly. We were traveling with our young children and in-laws. House was clean, everything was exactly as described. Very private and peaceful. At the end of the road, so there was minimal traffic. There was a bit of a hill to get down to the lake, but it didn't slow us down. We managed to traverse it with kayaks in hand! Owner was very responsive to the few concerns that popped up and they were resolved within an hour. We would absolutely stay here again and would recommend to anyone.

Beautiful views, peaceful cabin

This cabin has amazing views -- beautiful Lake Michigan in the backyard and a whole forest on one side. It was such a peaceful setting. The cabin was perfect for me, my husband, two kids and my parents (plus our old Golden). We never felt cramped or crowded. My two boys loved collecting rocks and shells on the shore, and running in the grassy yard. The cabin is equipped with pretty much everything we needed (including lots of pantry supplies, which we weren't expecting). The beds are big and super comfy, and it felt great sleeping with the windows open to get the cool breeze off the lake. We took a few day trips to Suttons Bay, Leland, Glen Arbor and of course the Sleeping Bear Dunes. It was centrally located to all these cute, quaint towns, which was perfect. Overall a great rental! One of the most relaxing vacations we've had.

We enjoyed the beautiful setting on Grand Traverse Bay. It was relaxing sitting on the deck reading and admiring the beauty of northern Michigan. There were many fun activities that we enjoyed in Northport such as Music in the Park, Fly in at Woolsley Airport , the Promise Grant Yard Sale, the visit to the Lighthouse and the Farmer's Market. The home was very comfortable and nicely decorated.

I rented this property for a weekend getaway to the Leelanau penninsula. This house has all the perks you would be accustomed to in your own house and I couldn't have been more please with the spacious accommodations. The view of Grand Traverse bay is absolutely beautiful and It provides a wonderful setting for enjoying your morning breakfast and coffee as the sun is coming up. Being located at the end of the subdivision, it is very quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend this property for families or couples looking to enjoy all that the Leelanau penninsula and northern Michigan have to offer.
