Come enjoy a slice of island paradise on the white sands of quiet Pine Island, the only beach in Hernando County. Just bring your clothes and toothbrush and enjoy your stay in our bright, fully furnished, 1600 sq. ft. stilt island home.

Our island home is fully furnished, featuring a 55' LED HD flat screen TV (for when you aren't out enjoying Florida's Nature Coast); a fully equipped kitchen with new appliances and granite counter tops; a large dining table that seats 6 (with additional seating at the breakfast bar). A master bedroom which features a private balcony that looks out to the Gulf (perfect for watching the amazing sunsets with your favorite beverage at the end of a beautiful day), a luxurious king bed, master bathroom (which includes a hair dryer...extra room in the luggage ladies ;) ) and a futon that extends to a full size bed for additional sleeping. The second bedroom features a queen bed, looks out to the Gulf, and is in close proximity to the guest bathroom. There is a day bed in the sitting area that has a trundle, so it can be used as two twin beds, or can easily be converted to a queen bed. Our home has an indoor washer and dryer as well as a wood burning fireplace, perfect to cuddle up around on those chilly nights.

Begin your day with a leisurely bike ride around Pine Island, or with a cup of coffee on the deck as you watch the sunrise. Continue your day by basking in the sun on your own private beach at the end of the street, reading a book or watching the dolphins play in the Gulf; or a short walk away is Pine Island Park where you can grab a bite to eat at Willy's snack bar. Visit Weeki Wachee Springs State Park and see the live mermaid show (7 miles away); Busch Gardens in Tampa is only 40 minutes away via the Suncoast Parkway; or Disney World/Universal Studios in Orlando is only an hour and a half via Hwy 50. Explore the many nature trails, enjoy a round a golf...there are endless possibilities on Florida's Nature Coast! Don't forget to head back to Pine Island in time to see the most amazing sunsets anywhere. This is truly a slice of island paradise.

We are excited to share our island home with you. Please contact us with any questions you have.

Why The Owner chose Weeki Wachee

We chose Pine Island for it's amazing island feel. It is like being on one of the Florida Keys, only it is green, quiet, and you still have all the amenities of the big city, without having to live in the big city. You can truly feel everyday stresses float away as you make the drive down Pine Island Dr. and pull into your island home.

What makes this house unique

Pine Island is located in Central Florida, so anything from theme parks to professional sporting events, to visiting any of Florida's famous springs are just a short drive away. No one said you have to leave the island...we have the only beach in Hernando County, and because it is only a short walk from the house, there is no parking fee.

Awesome warm weather beach getaway

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this lovely beach/island home. We love less populated and more natural areas and this fit us perfectly. We made regular use of the kayaks both in the gulf and paddling around the island. We rented a kayak and stand up paddle board on the Weeki Watchee River and then rented a canoe on the Chassahowitzka River. It was relaxing and slow paced, just what we needed!

The house was comfortably furnished, and we felt like we were home. Everything we needed was there. The neighborhood is very quiet even though there is a state beach park at the end of the road.

Thank you to Carl and Jen for sharing their lovely home.

Upon arriving to this rental home we were blown away! Every detail of the house was as every description indicated but was so wonderful and beautiful to see in person. Such a beautiful area and location, we couldn't have asked for anything better! We enjoyed sunsets at the private beach, and from our balconies and took many walks throughout the day enjoying the beautiful 80 degree weather while pushing my 15 month old daughter in her stroller! It took less than 5 minutes to walk to the main public beach which was amazing! Wondeful play area for kids and loved the Willy's Tropical Breeze tiki theme resturant right on the beach (so great and convienent)!

Only 10 minutes from the nearest grocery stores and less than 15 from shopping centers as well! The location from Pine Island to everything is just awesome. We did Tarpon Springs and Fred Howard Beach, Wikee Wachee Springs and Busch Gardens!

I have family that lives near Tampa and when they drove out to visit us . . . from the minute they pulled into the driveway and walked into the home they were blown away! The loved the feel of the home and are seriously considering reserving for themselves sometime just as a getaway even though it's only an hour from home and they can see the beach anytime. They stated that the feel is almost like being in the Florida Key's just so quaint and relaxing! They loved it as well!

We had beautiful weather all week and the most amazing experience! Our last full night at the home my husband and I took out a Kayak at the private beach area and while in the water (and we weren't out far from shore) had 3 dolphins swim within probably 40 feet from the kayak. Never have I ever seen anything more thrilling and or exhilirating than that! It truley made out entire week!

Thank you to the owners for being so generous and sharing such a beautiful place with us! We made so many wonderful memories that will be forever treasured!

Note:
Because there is a stairway that is open and my daughter only being 15 months (and loved the concept of climbing) my husband and I did purchase a baby gate so that we could block off the hallway area leading to the stairs. It worked perfectly so we did not have worry about her trying to climb constantly. We left the baby gate at the home for others to use as well.

Island Delight

What a wonderful time we had on Pine Island. The pictures and descriptions of the property were spot on. We loved the beach at the end of the street with the quaint little restaurant. We found that this home was in such a great location. It is an easy two hour drive to Disney World and an even a shorter distance to Busch Gardens. We enjoyed using the house kayak to paddle on the spring fed river and got a close up look at the manatees. Viewing the sunset from the master bedroom balcony was pretty amazing . The house was clean and very nicely decorated. The owners were very quick to answer any questions we had prior to our visit.

Perfect Florida Vacation

We loved this house and the whole area. The owners were friendly, easy to work with, and immediately responsive to our questions. The house is fresh, cozy, and family-friendly. The listing photos are very accurate; if anything, it felt more comfortable in person. We loved the beautiful art and the open, island feel. The kitchen had everything we needed. It is well stocked for all paper goods, soap/shampoo, beach toys, and towels and linens. We really appreciated being able to use the bikes to explore the area as well as the kayaks to paddle in the Gulf. We were amazed that it was warm enough for the kids to swim in the Gulf in early January, they had a blast! This area is so natural and lovely. We kayaked the Weeki Wachee, saw manatees, saw the mermaids, saw sandhill cranes and a bald eagle - writing this is making me wish we were still there! We did drive to Orlando one day to see the Harry Potter stuff and it was a nice drive through rural Florida. And Tampa is also an easy drive. I definitely would recommend it, and hope to return next year with extended family for another relaxing and fun week on the island.

Exceeded My Expectations

I'm ready to go again!

My visit was basically to see my mom for her 84th birthday and have a place where we could spend time away from her apartment (she's in an assisted living facility). The house was fabulous! From the big picture (it was as advertised) to the details (fresh bars of soap in each bathroom), I would definitely recommend it to others.

The owners were especially helpful with suggestions on where to dine. (For those of you who rent in the future - Becky Jack's has food and staff that make you smile and La Bella Napoli is a fantastic place for Italian food!)

I'm looking forward to doing this again.

Amazing Stay

Review attached by owner: We are having an awesome time at your wonderful island home. It really is a slice of heaven, the beach is stunning and so child friendly, (our daughter) has made new friends every single day. Yesterday I was out floating on the lilo when a shoal of fish jumped over me, closely followed by two dolphins, so close I could almost touch them, it took my breath away! Then we noticed there were even more dolphins, in total we saw 18! Something I will never see again in my lifetime and I feel so blessed to be able to share the ocean with them just that one time :-) The house is amazing and the sunsets spectacular, as are the storms we have had, we have all been singing and dancing in the rain on the balcony to cool down, especially yesterday when it was 101 degrees when we left the beach! I have finally driven over here, this is our 5th trip to the USA, lol :-)

Currently sat on the balcony waiting for another storm that has been rumbling in the distance all day with a glass of wine :-)

The property was everything we expected from the description. We loved it! House was clean and accessible. Great beach for children. My family fell in love with the area. I stayed four weeks and the owners were great with any issues that we had. Would certainly recommend to others and hope to stay again in the future.

Everything I hoped for...

I had a great time at this home. Granted, it's not on the water's edge,, but I wasn't willing to pay the cost of what an beachside home rents for. The owners of this home have done an outstanding job of furnishing it and keeping it immaculate. The master bedroom and bath were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed [we only ate out once during the week]. The big high def TV with satellite reception was great [PLENTY of kids DVD's on hand].
The island itself is very quiet and scenic. It's not a big island - and that's truly a plus. Granted, mid-April is probably a slow time of year, but the amount of visitor traffic was VERY light. The walk to the beach every morning was great - and the beach was virtually empty everytime we strolled down to it [about a two block walk]. There are other houses on the island to rent, but I can vouch for this one... it's a great place to stay.

This place has everything ... quiet and restful if you want it, with fun places to explore nearby. We loved biking along the beautiful coastal marshes and viewing the wildlife as well as spending a day at the beach. Beautiful home and owners are quick to assist with any questions. We would gladly rent again in the future.
