Our stay was just paradisiac! The place is very calm and ideal to relax reading a book in a hamac 5 meters from a marvelous sea. The owners thought of everything to make our stay the most pleasant possible! Both flats are ingeniously designed to get the natural ventilation to make it more comfortable as it already is!
We enjoyed a lot the incredible nature and wildlife around, beautiful shells, fishes, corals from the Soliman bay that we could observe using the kayaks and snorkeling equipment at our disposition.
My nephew was happy to find a real and comfortable baby bed and some toys to play in the sand!
5 days were definitely not enough to explore all cenotes, natural park and archeological treasures surrounding the place! I would need to come back!
A big thank again to Beatrice and Loic, the owners for the warm welcome, and to the housekeepers for attention and help during our stay!

We've stayed there for 5 days and this place really was a great surprise. The appartments are spacious and very comfortable (we tried both sirroco and bora), and the owners had reserved a warm welcome for us and were really helpful to help us plan our stay and visits. Being right on the beach with also a swiming pool which has a small area with just 40cm depth was perfect for our little boy. You can also enjoy a tour in the lagoon for snorkelling by using the kayaks. Going for a grilled fish at the small restaurant at the south end of the bay is also a great thing to do. I would definitely go back soon if that was not such a long way from Europe!

Our family enjoyed our five days in Sombras Del Viento. We could not have been happier and your house made it possible. It is a dream house, with very tasteful and high quality furnished. Views from the terrace are spectacular, wildlife is amazing! The location directly in the middle of the bay just can’t be beat. I understand why you chose such a magnificent space to build your house that perfectly melts in the environment. We hope to have a chance to come back again it is so relaxing and there are so many things to do in the area.

Thanks a lot for providing all the Baby equipment, thanks for the basket of excellent fruits that you put in the house and many many thanks Beatrice and Loic for your warm welcome. It's been a pleasure.

A Great Place

Two couples in their 50"s shared Sirrocco, unit was beautiful inside and out, we spent most of our time either in the lounge chairs on the beach reading and sunning or on the wide porch looking at the pool, palms or beach playing cards, Weather was not as great as we would have liked but still very nice, the home was a convenient distance from Tulum or Akumal for dinners and day trips (need a car) and I would not hesitate to go back for another stay or recommend this home to friends.

Bora Bliss

Apologies for the delayed review but spare time is at a premium in our non-stop hectic life in the UK, a far cry from the lazy relaxed days spent at Sombras del Viento! After 10 days of travelling around the Yucatan I don't think we could have ended up anywhere better to finish off our Mexican holiday. The villa, gardens and beachfront are amazing and excellently maintained and even though we only stayed in the smallest apartment (Bora) we had the whole place to ourselves. Bora apartment is furnished and equipped to a very high standard and had everything we needed for our stay, although it was difficult to spend much time indoors with the lovely pool and beach literally on the doorstep. In the garden there are hammocks and shady palms plus all manor of equipment to make sure you're able to get out in the calm bay and enjoy the reef. Using the kayaks to get out to the best bits of reef further out in the bay (a bouy provides a mooring point) was great with a suprising number of fish, including a barracuda and rays, colourful corals, octopus and even a turtle seen during our mini-excursions. The pelicans provided much entertainment as they fished just off shore and there was good variety of birdlife all around the bay, especially pools at the northern end. It really was an excellent end to our holiday and 3 nights were not enough! Thanks to Loic for letting out a wonderful villa and providing us with all the pre-stay info we needed. Recommended to all friends and family when we returned home and if at all possible we'll be back! Cheers Steve and Lucy

Wedding and back for more!

We celebrated our very intimate wedding at SDV end of July- total of 5 guests joined us in Mistral- the upper floor 4 bedroom. The home has everything you need and so much more, game room, the common areas are large, comfortable and each with a stunning view of the bay, sunsets and sunrises with all shades of pink over the mangrove. We took hundreds of pictures so we would not forget how beautiful this was and how lucky we are to enjoy it. So much fun and just what we had in mind, no fuss, just us and our very close family & friends- except husband got sick and spent last 2 days in bed, so we came back for 3 nights a month later and stayed at Bora's one bedroom. Had no one to take care of and we just indulged in this wonderful spot on earth. We kayaked and snorkeled every day and saw amazing creatures, anemones of every color, file fish, healthy brain coral, turtles! On our second night one of the turtle nests in front of the house hatched, what a treat and a once in a lifetime experience. The caretakers are exceptional and truly engaged in nature.
It was so great to have our breakfast on the veranda overlooking the water while enjoying nature all around. Wonderful time of year to visit as we had the entire bay to ourselves! We laugh now that we are back home at how inconvenienced we are by not having the wonderful water pressure this rental has, the whisper quiet air conditioning, the wonderful staff Alejandra and Miguel. We had TV with DVD players we never found the time to use, but we did cook all our meals at Bora- we did not want to leave and miss out on anything.
there are dining options walking distance, but we suggest shopping and taking this place in. There are 3 palapas out front with shade, hammocks, chaise loungers to rest in. The owners thought of everything while designing this home and we are sure to come back again and again. Look no further this place has it all! thank you for the wonderful time we had!

Perfect Casa

My wife and I visited this property for 3 days and stayed in the Sirocco.
It is a wonderful property and the owners have done an excellent job with the architecture and craftsmanship. The property is elegant and private.

The breeze was blowing through the house the entire time so I am unable to comment on the air conditioning functionality; as we did not use it. The ceiling fans and ocean breezes were perfect. No mosquitoes to mention for us. Sitting in the beach chairs we enjoyed the night time sky full of stars.

We kayaked to the buoys and saw lots and lots of wildlife (birds and underwater). The pool was very pleasant and clean; the beach area was raked each day and the lawn chairs very comfortable under the palapas and hammock. The housekeeper was stealth in her work as we hardly saw here but she managed to kept the unit spotless and sand free.

The WiFi worked flawlessly. Internet and Skype no problems.

The beach was pleasant to walk and the restaurant on the south part of the bay makes an excellent fish plate with cold drinks. Very cozy for an easy lunch after kayaking all morning.

We did our shopping at San Francisco super-market (credit cards were accepted). Though, watch out for the police when you nearing town. They are using the speed radar lasers and when it says 40km/hr they mean it (I was doing 45km/hr per the radar). I did get pulled over and they wanted 2000 pesos to avoid any problems. I insisted to get a hand written ticket and go pay it at the police station as I only had a credit card to pay the fee. I apologized sincerely and would only pay it at the police station to make sure my ticket will be settled officially. They gave me a one-time 'warning' and sent me on my way. Fun experience. Stick to the speed limits as posted, you will be fine.

The road in is a bit bumpy. Go slow. The guards are the main gate were always standing to attention.

Tulum and ruins were easy 15 minute drive.

We will definitely return.
