Location: Ruidoso, NM, USA (Three Hours South of Albuquerque, NM, One Hour West of Roswell, Two ½ Hrs. North of El Paso, TX). Airports at all three locations.

Accommodations: House, 4 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (sleeps 12). Approximately 1,600 SF.

We purchased the house in 2003 and it’s been a wonderful place to enjoy family memories over the years. The crisp cool mountain air, the laid back attitude and the numerous activities that Ruidoso has to offer is like few other places. Our house is located in a quiet area near Upper Canyon, about five minutes to downtown, ten minutes to the Inn of the Mountain Gods Casino, fifteen minutes to the Racetrack and/or the Ski Apache Resort.

A recently constructed large deck in the front of the house allows you to start your day with a cup of coffee on the deck while you watch the deer, listen for the turkeys and occasionally see Elk in the neighborhood. In the evenings we enjoy having a glass of wine while watching the sunset over Sierra Blanca and listening to the wildlife.

Ruidoso offers enjoyment for every season. From snow skiing and snowboarding at nationally known Sierra Blanca Ski Resort to tubing at the lower runs, in the winter; to horse racing at Ruidoso Downs, home of the All American Futurity, the “Worlds Richest Quarter Horse Race, in the Summer, there is plenty to keep you busy. There is also casino gambling at Billy the Kid Casino and at the world famous Inn of the Mountain Gods, to provide plenty of opportunities to test your luck. There is also golf at a number of local courses including the championship links at the Inn of Mountain Gods, Links and Cree Meadows.

Meet your friends at several wonderful restaurants or bars in Ruidoso. We have listed some of our favorite below in the Google maps sections.

By renting our house you get the wonderful comforts of a home, extreme privacy and spacious accommodations for nearly the same price as a cabin or motel in town.

There are two separate Living areas in the house, one on each of the two levels. Both of them have, flat screen TV’s (one with DVD), along with Wood Burning Fireplace. The Living room is down the hall from the Master Bedroom with a Queen size bed (2 people), Twin Beds (2 people) in second bedroom, Futon (2 people) in the Living Room and Futon (2 people) in bedroom. About The Owner

I have been in the title industry since 1974, I took a few detours but am now back for good!

I enjoy art and spend a lot of time painting-watercolor. My enjoyment for art started in 1993 as I took my first watercolor class and have continued since then. I have been in Alto Art Studio Tour, Lincoln County Art Studio Tour and numerous other showings while living in Ruidoso. I have always been inspired by the BLUE sky in New Mexico, the southwest architect and many beautiful Churches, mountains and other outdoor scenery in Ruidoso and Lincoln County. Now my husband and I live in East Texas, so my subjects are different. We live within Sam Houston National Forest and near Lake Livingston.

In addition to my art, I take our two dogs - Lucy and Abby for walks. I wanted to move back to Texas to be closer to my family. However, I do miss my Ruidoso house, snow, wild life. I hope that you all enjoy it too!

The Owner purchased this house in 2003
Why The Owner chose Ruidoso

I have had many memorable visits to Ruidoso since the 1960s with my parents. In the late 1990s, I started taking my boys to Ruidoso and after spending several weekends in Ruidoso decided to purchase a condo in 2001 as a part-time resident. In 2003, I made the leap and converted my part-time residency status to full-time by purchasing the Ponderosa Cabin. Since 2003, my adult children, dogs and I have had many memorable times at the house and in Ruidoso and Lincoln County. I married in the fall of 2009. By late 2011, we moved back to Texas to be closer to family.

What makes this house unique

I love the summer in Ruidoso-it may be warm during the day, but by 7pm, it cools down and have the windows open during the night and wake up to a cool morning. In the winter, we may get 6 to 8 in of snow but it is gone by the next afternoon. When you have that much snow, it is God's way of telling you to slow down for the day-and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

My neighborhood is quiet-I remember the first time my oldest son came to visit after I moved there. He said, 'it is so quiet'. My house is almost on top of its own mountain and is shared with some great neighbors. We would get together about once a month-I miss them and that time together so I hope you have the opportunity to meet them. They are all great people!

Pets-always! I have had lots of deer, turkeys and elk. Sometimes, I have had a bear visit (not in the house), but in the yard. After all, we took over their place.

Horse racing in the summer, Raspberry picking in late August, Apple picking in the neighborhood, smell fireplaces and Motorcycle Rally in the fall, Ski Apache opens Thanksgiving Day along with all the Christmas Festivities (parade, tree lighting and etc.). http://www.ruidoso.net

I love Lincoln County, get in on some history of Billy the Kid or pick Raspberries or head to the Lavender Farm, in Hondo Valley. There is always something going on in Ruidoso/Lincoln County.

I must say this place was very clean, the beds were not musty at all compared to other places we have stayed. The house itself was very clean and was odorless, and all the pictures on the site is exactly in home, even better in person. The owner was very attentive to every need and exceeded them as well. Owner called to make sure we made it safe and we had all the necessities we will be needing. Everything you could think of you would need they had, from pots, pans, spices, linens, pillows, toilet paper, diswhashing soap, you name it, it was there! The deer roams around and is not afraid to come close, my kids loved it! The view is awesome and it's located in a very quiet area in which you can just sit in front of the house and enjoy peace and quiet! It is close to downtown, casinos, and walmart! I highly recommend this rental, I thank the owner and her neighbor for everything. I really appreciate everything and my family and I will forever remember this little getaway, we will definitely come back!!

We rented this house for a 3-day weekend and it was almost like being at my own home. It is very cozy and inviting with plenty of room for us all. We spent a lot of time on the deck taking in the view and the peace and quiet. We thank you for opening up your house to us and look forward to staying there again in the near future.

The house is very nice and was very well stocked and organized. The owner called to check on us during our stay and was very sweet. We loved how the house was set up. There was the large kitchen that seperated each end of the house. On each end of the house is 2 bedrooms and a bath which was perfect for my family of four and my parents. The large patio out front was very nice (2 tables and lots of chairs along with a gas grill) We had lots of deer (9 the morning we left) and many hummingbirds all around the patio. During our stay we saw elk (couple of blocks away) and a mama bear and her three cubs a couple miles from the house. Definetely recommend others to stay here. Price was wonderful and we plan to stay here again. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
