Photos and Description of the New Braunfels vacation cabin rental
Treehouses, full kitchen and one full bathroom.

**Please inquire about our other Treehouse properties, we have multiple cabins at this property and another. Our cabins are located across River Road from the Guadalupe River, we do have an exclusive river access for our guests. - FOR FASTEST RESPONSE PLEASE E-MAIL OR SEND AN INQUIRY THROUGH THIS SITE.

The moment you arrive at our property and see the enormous eighty foot cypress trees with decades old wild mustang grapevines hanging from their limbs, you realize you are in a special place. When you notice the footbridge attached to the trees will take you safely across the seasonal creek and to your private treehouse, you know you have found an amazing place to stay. The Tree Houses are located on the opposite side of River Rd from the Gaudalupe River.

“Wait a minute, did you say a tree house?” many people ask. Yes, but this is not your childhood plywood fort of days gone by. Our tree houses are newly constructed, engineered custom cabins with all the conveniences of modern living including air conditioning, wi-fi, satellite, kitchen and bathroom. Picture your own custom cabin, with attached private deck and an open living, dining area and kitchen with loft above and a master suite and a full bathroom with clawfoot tub.

**Our cabins are custom built around the trees, the spiral staircases to the loft are a bit narrow, but it is apart of the charm of our treehouse cabins.

The treehouses are actually attached to the large hardwood trees that run along the seasonal creek, which lend to the picturesque setting that will give you an overall exhilarating experience.

We are very fortunate to be located near a very beautiful part of the Guadalupe River, on River Road between New Braunfels and Canyon Lake. Since we are so centrally located, you will be able to easily access and enjoy many of the best places the Texas Hill Country has to offer including river access from our property, Canyon Lake (a boat ramp is only minutes away), Whitewater Amphitheater and River Road Icehouse, historic Gruene Hall, and New Braunfels, which is only 11 miles from the treehouses.

Many of our guests come here to tube and enjoy the Guadalupe River and take advantage of the ease in which they can access and enjoy the river by simply walking across River Rd. to the river access. By taking a shuttle (many local tube outfitters have shuttle services) up river and simply floating back down to the river access, you can tube with your group very easily! **KAYAKS and TUBES NOT included, but can be rented at nearby outfitters. After a long day of tubing and river fun many of our guests enjoy relaxing and barbequing along the banks of the river recounting the day’s excitement. Afterwards you can enjoy the nightlife and many live music venues nearby or simply hang out with your family and friends on your private treehouse deck.

After a day or two of tubing and river fun, many guests change pace and rent a ski boat at Canyon Lake or go to New Braunfels to enjoy Schlitterbahn Waterpark. When your group is ready for shopping, Gruene Market Days or the San Marcos Outlet Malls are only short drives away.

While all of these activities described above are the main reasons many of our guests come to stay, others simply come for a quick escape from the city to recharge their batteries and enjoy the relaxing sounds of the croaking frogs or chirping crickets at night as they watch for shooting stars in the starlit sky. Whether you are looking for adventure or relaxation, you will find it here.

Come for a romantic weekend getaway or try your hand in the blue ribbon trout fishing on the Guadalupe. Our property is located next to the spot on the river where they often times stock the trout which makes it a great place to fish! You can wade the river yourself or hire a flyfishing guide to take you down the river in a raft or fishing boat.

Monthly stays are also available during the off season and many winter Texans take advantage of our low monthly prices which include all utilities.

About Mike Prendergast or Judy Allen

I am the full time manager of the River Road Tree-houses and want to make your stay with us the best possible. Whether you need a recommendation to eat, information on tubing outfitters or something taken care of in your cabin I am on call to take care of your needs.

Why Mike Prendergast or Judy Allen chose New Braunfels

We originally purchased this property in 2009. We drove by and fell in love with the big trees and river access. After thinking for some time about what he could do with the property, the idea came to us to build treehouses above the floodplain. We bought the land and began researching treehouse building and were amazed at all the information we found (there is actually a treehouse builders organization as well as people who make and sell specific tree house hardware.) After much planning and engineering we began building our treehouses in the winter of 2010 and finished at the end of July, 2010. We love this property because of the way in which the tree-houses are set and nestled in the trees and the convenience to all the fun activities and venues the area has to offer.

What makes this cabin unique

This is to our knowledge the only treehouse rental in the area. You will absolutely enjoy staying here among the tall cypress and pecan trees. The creek is seasonal, though it runs the majority of the time (as long as we get rain every 3-4 weeks and is very soothing to listen to. It is so pretty and our river access is fantastic. We invite our friends over often and try to stay as much as possible.

My family and I rented 4 treehouses for the Thanksgiving holiday. They are adorable! I love how they are set in the trees at the top of a valley. So...you feel like you are up high, but don't have to climb. The location is great as well-nice and quiet. I would definitely recommend the River Road Treehouses!

The cabin ahs everything you need for your stay away from home. The location was easy to find and close to most everything in the area or tourist. The cabin was very clean and the bedding was very nice. We loved having the community deck and made friends with our neighbors that evening over a fire in the pit and smores! The only drawback was that we did not realize the river was actually down the road a bit. Definitely within walking distance but we did not realize it until late in the day. The kids enjoyed the kayaks! Minor issues-bring cone filters for the coffe maker and bring your own bar soap. Soap was provided like you would get at a hotel but my preference was i did not like the quality of it. Also, i thought this was actually going to be a cabin up in a huge tree. Not the case, it is built around and within several trees. Very fun stay!

Got one night's stay through LivingSocial; I can't say we really had much time to enjoy the area, given that we had to check out at 11:00, but we're definitely planning to return during a more mild time of the year! Stayed at the Mourning Dove Haus; absolutely loved the deep bronze tub!

The narrow spiral staircase is not really fit for a normal sized adult, but kids would love using it to get up to the spacious loft, complete with a Wii gaming console!

Great quiet place to relax!

My family loved staying in this cabin. Quiet relaxing vacation. Looking forward to renting it again. I even got to watch deer play in the morning. Only draw back is the walls are thin and you can hear sound through them. But there is plenty of room between cabins so it wasn't a big deal.

Amazing River Get-away

Several couples and my husband and I recently rented two of the treehouse cabins for the Fourth of July weekend. The experience was amazing and Mike, the property manager was very accommodating.

As we drove out to the cabins we passed many tent camping sites and cabins crowded with people. Upon pulling up to the Treehouses we were happy to see that it NOT surrounded by tent camping or other extremely busy places. Instead, the cabins are in a very relaxing area and are absolutely beautiful. Each cabin is well-kept, clean, and cozy. And they are fully equipped with cookware, coffee maker, towels, bedding, T.V.s, DVD players, and even a Wii!!! As for the outdoors, there is a great river access spot across the street from the cabins where we ended up spending a large majority of our time. Even though the river was extremely low, it was a nice place to swim, kayak, and just enjoy nature!

In addition, the location is very convenient. We were within 15 minutes of several tubing places, within 20 minutes of Canyon Lake, and near a small town where we were able to pick up last minute necessities.

Moreover, Mike was very helpful. We were allowed to take our dogs, and were able to schedule a late check out. And to top it off, the price was very reasonable! I highly recommend renting the treehouse cabins for your next trip to the Guadalupe!
