The Baitcan was perfect! It exceeded our expectations. We had 6 adults and 6 kids from 2.5-14 yrs. The house had plenty of room to fit all of us comfortabley. Nice deck and yard to hang out on after a long day at Mother's beach. Outdoor shower was great.

My husband and I rented the Bait Can to celebrate our 40th anniversary with our three adult children, their spouses and three grandboys, 2 1/2, 4 and 8. The location was wonderful since we could walk to the beach. The house was a true beach cottage, well equipped and cozy. Margy and Dan were very helpful with all our questions. Mother's Beach is great for small children and adults as well and we were especially lucky to have warm water to swim in. Hope to return again.

It doesn't get any better than this.
The location is great. You can hear the ocean, and see it from upstairs.
You are literally 4 houses from Mother's beach.
Inside the house is truly a typical, old style, beach house, but lovingly maintained.
It is so well equipped that all you really need is your bathing suit, toothbrush and food (maybe a bike would be handy).

We stayed at the Bait Can recently. The youngest member of our family is 2 and the oldest 102. Margy and Dan were wonderful with all of the arrangements. The Cottage is so charming and the smell and sound of the ocean surrounds you. We walked to the beach everyday and enjoyed our stay immensely. The house is clean and comfortable and beds very comfortable. We will return time and again. Thank you Bait Can for a family get together we will never forget. We also brought our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who was in seventh heaven with her daily walks by the sea...

great home for a 3 generation reunion. Owners responsive to our questions. Everything clearly and cleanly laid out. Very kid friendly, a short walking distance to a great intimate sandy beach, accessible, yet tucked in and away from traffic. All the accouterments for shared meals, and a great lobster feed, kitchen friendly and accessible. Total space was intimate, yet flowing feeling with multiple communal rooms to spread out or get close, cozy and relaxed. Having the ocean and beaches so close was a definite Plus, long walks along the beach or bike rides are possible, within walking distance of Kennebunkport, a car needed for grocery shopping. Wooden floors, lots of windows, no parking problems. The beds were new fantastic, our sleeping heavenly, great water pressure and plenty of beach towels--which are good as the beach is the definite Draw. . Outdoor cedar shower to get the fine sand off. No worry about messing the place up, it is casual and relaxed and easy to care for, as it cares Back.

The owners of the Bait Can have restored/decorated it with loving care--maintaining its classic 'cottage-bungalow' feel, while ensuring that it has the modern amenities required for today's families. Kids can walk to the beach--indicative of a great location--but the home is set back, just a bit, in a quiet neighborhood, so you still enjoy ocean views and breezes without the traffic and noise of being beachfront. The owners, who we met briefly, are caring and attentive. There are ample supplies for cooking, beaching, etc. A local caretaker checks in with frequency to ensure your comfort and satisfaction. All in all, a great way to see Maine.
