Photos and Description of the Historic Center vacation apartment rental
1 bedrooms, 1.25 baths, sleeps 4

Definitely a gorgeous apartment in a wonderful palace building with unique location

It benefits from a unique location ( it was selected among half a score locations in florence by a famous tv producer)

It is located just 50 meters (150 feet) from the duomo square. The cathedral with its giotto bell tower appears from the corner of the street (via dei vecchietti).

Via dei vecchietti is one of the most well known street of the centre of florence: spacious, clean and luminous.

It runs parallel to via tornabuoni, known throughout the world for its high fashion boutiques.

You get to the apartment by entering the noble palace belonged to the medici tornaquinci family . A beautiful staircase leads to the upper floors but you may prefer to reach the 2nd floor by using the typical elevator.

The apartment offers a 80 m² floor area and can accommodate a maximum of 2+2 guests. It is composed by 2 floors: the spacious living room with a fully equipped kitchen and the luminous bedroom is located on one floor, whereas the large bathroom is accessible by stairs leading to a lower floor. The big bathroom is equipped with shower and bathtub, washing machine.

All rooms are tastefully furnished and equipped with cotto floor and beamed ceilings. The apartment is provided with: air conditioning, heating, high-speed wireless internet connection, tv, dvd player.

Also provided a set of bed linen and towels.

Don't miss the opportunity of a great vacation in Florence!

Firenze Up Close and Personal

We were fortunate to find this unique rental on VRBO. We had never been to Florence (Firenze) and found this unit to be close in, yet quite, and charming. It has historical significance via the Medicci family which the owner, Lorenzo can tell you. It is two blocks from the Duomo, has nice decorations, lots of space, a very interesting bathroom, and wonderful air conditioning that allows you to shut out all outside noise and sleep comfortably. There are great restaurants near by, in fact one right around the corner where we ate after our short cab ride from the train station. This place is a find. We loved it.

Convenience, Comfort, and Clean

This apartment - and Lorenzo - were a blessing in Florence.

It was my first time to Italy and to Florence. The apartment was in the PERFECT location for experiencing the sights and sounds of Florence - culture, art, architecture, and shopping. A couple other women that were in Florence later in the week and shopped with us had chosen to stay by the train station and found that location only convenient for arrival - but a real problem logistically for the duration of their stay. And they were surprised how close this apartment was to the station while being so convenient for everything else that Florence has to offer.

The apartment itself is very well maintained and very spacious - ESPECIALLY by European standards.
The air conditioning was a godsend on the days that got up to 40 degrees (around 100 for any Americans reading this). The wifi was very strong and stable - I had zero issues with that at the apartment, where as some businesses in the city say they have wifi and it does ever connect or work.

Lorenzo was great to deal with - very open and honest about the apartment, it is exactly what you see in the photos - no bad surprises - and he was kind enough to give details about where to get supplies and what restaurants he would recommend - which were GREAT recommendations!

I would strongly recommend to anyone going to Florence that they rent this apartment for their stay - you will not be disappointed.

Only surprise for my friend was the size of the elevator - but that to was larger than I have seen in other European hotels/cities.

We stayed as a couple for 5 nights, requested late check out - owner accommodated us easily. the apartment is in a very old and distinguished building but has all the modern advantages. we loved being able to walk everywhere!! We did not use public transportation.
Located among all the trendy upscale stores (husbands beware!!!).
The owner was very helpful and has a high sense of how to please customers.
Please note that the bathroom and toilet are downstairs (in the apartment) -it is definitely mentioned in the description, and I personally thought it was fine, but my husband was not so happy especially when getting up in the middle of the night. Because the building is very old, the stairs to the bathroom are narrow and have some angle -probably due to decades of use.
Overall – I would highly recommend.

We really enjoyed this place! It had a perfect position in the heart of Florence. The bed was comfortable and the living area enormous. There was also a huge bathroom downstairs with separate bath and shower. The building itself was charming and historic with an old fashioned elevator that we loved operating! The apartment was clean and had everything we needed. It was also very secure and we felt totally safe there. Lorenzo was delightful and was there to greet us when we arrived. He also had a great restaurant tip which we made use of on 3 occasions. If we go to Florence again ( we can safely say we have experienced Florence to the full) we would not stay anywhere else but this wonderful accommodation.

Wonderful!

This is a wonderful, bright, spacious apartment right in the heart of Florence. The bed was exceedingly comfortable, and the cabinets were stocked with whatever you need to make coffee in the morning (though we didn't), which is a nice touch.

The bathroom, though down a short flight of stairs, is large and comfortable (with a tub!) and excellent water pressure in the shower, and plenty of places to put your things down. The light was good, there was shampoo and conditioner and soap and plenty of nice toilet paper, and the towels were very nice. A word of warning - if you wash clothes - there is no dryer.

Lorenzo, our host, was charming and helpful and available for any questions we had - even those not pertaining to our stay in the apartment. We hope to visit there again - it's been lovingly and beautifully kept up.

Great Location

After spending a week in Florence, I would highly recommend having a very centrally located apartment, which means as close to the Duomo as you can get, but on the Arno River side. The Renaissance part of Florence is very walkable city, relatively flat and reasonably small. So if you are big walkers, it really doesn't matter where you stay. But for me, especially early in the stay, when I have yet to fully acclimate to the new time zone, being able to easily walk home after dinner is a huge plus. That is the compelling reason for me to be centrally located.
e stayed at this apartment. It was perfect. The building was one from part of the Medici family's sprawling Florence houses--so not unique, per se, but old, and all that that entails. It had a gorgeous entry way and the first and second floors are under renovation, so glimpses of the building's grand past can be glimpsed. It was nice to be able to amble back to our place after extensive purchases and off load them. Since we were in the heart of the Chianti Classico wine region, we did feel compelled to try a a number of them, and carrying several wine bottles around takes it's toll after a few kilometers, so it was very nice to be able to detour back to our apartment between museum and shopping trip.
