Unit 9 is a luxury three bedroom villa that occupies the whole of the ground floor of a standalone building in the Del Pacifico Resort.
From the moment you arrive at Del Pacifico at Esterillos, you will find a place unlike any other in Costa Rica.
Set in the midst of the grandeur of the Costa Rican rain forest and the exotic palm coast of the Pacific Ocean, Del Pacifico at Esterillos offers the best of both of these settings. Del Pacifico is a village by the sea – a private place to relax, recharge and reflect. A master-planned community meticulously designed by internationally renowned architects and woven into the very fabric of Costa Rica’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
Del Pacifico is ideally located midway between the popular beach resort of Jaco Beach and the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park. With the opening of the new highway in 2010, it is now less than 2 hours to drive by car from the International Airport at San Jose.
Unit 9 is a spacious and luxurious condominium, comprised of over 2000 square feet of living space. There are two bedrooms with king size beds, each with their own en suite bathroom and a third bedroom with twin beds. The third bathroom services as both the bathroom for the twin bedroom and the powder room for the living area. The condominium is decorated in a open modern style featuring original works of art by renowned Costa Rican Artist Felix Murillo.
With granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances throughout, the galley kitchen has all the amenities you will need to cook a wonderful gourmet meal.
The kitchen is separated from the dining area by a breakfast bar.
The dining and living areas are spacious and interconnected, the living area being demarked by beautiful teak flooring which contrasts with the Italian tile flooring prevelent throughout the rest of the condominium. The low rise seating area in the living room is perfect for conversation. relaxing or taking an afternoon siesta.
Floor to ceiling glass double doors from the living area open up onto the sheltered dining patio, secluded, but just a stone’s throw from the communal pool complex. Indeed the close proximity of the condominium to the pool complex is a great feature, whether you have a young family, where the kids can swim safely with the adults in close proximity or whether you are a group of adults who enjoy an evening swim in the floodlit pool without straying too far from your mojitos!
The pool complex comprises a large free form swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a paddling pool for the children and a large lanai. Due to the low population density of the development, it would not be unusual if your group had the pool complex all to yourselves for the majority of your stay.
Four hours of maid service is included in each weekly rental. Additional maid service can be provided.
Del Pacifico is situated next to one of the most spectacular beaches in all of Costa Rica and truly one of the special places on this planet. The beach stretches for miles. The surf is always spectacular. Spectacular surf on one side, palm fringed beach on the other. Truly paradise found. One can walk for hours and pass only a handful of people. If you wade across the shallow stream to the south, you will likely have a 3km beach all to yourself, save that is for the pelicans, wading birds running in and out of the surf or perhaps a sloth moving through the branches in one of the trees at the edge of the beach.
Another way to enjoy the beach is to sign up for a sunset gallop. Del Pacifico has a stable of horses free for the use of the owners and their guests. A favourite trek is to head into the rain forest at around 3pm, loop up onto the hills for magnificent views of the ocean before heading down to the beach for sunset.
The beach adjacent to the Del Pacifico Resort is called Playa Bejuco and faces due south. The ocean is spectacular.
Our favourite time on the beach is early morning and late afternoon. It’s a 30 minute stroll from Playa Bejuco to Del Pacifico’s sister hotel Alma del Pacifico. There is nothing nicer than taking a stroll up to the beach for breakfast at Alma del Pacifico in the open air restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Alma del Pacifico also has a fantastic spa offering an extensive menu of Costa Rican spa treatments combining professional, personal care and a beautiful seaside setting, which creates an experience of peace, wellness and rejuvenation.
What else to do at Del Pacifico?
White water rafting trips run out of Quepos (20 minutes south), for the most adventurous try the Churro river, the highest class of rapid available to tourists in Costa Rica – you are not allowed to run it in the rainy season! For the less experienced rafter try the Savegre and Naranjo rivers. The rafting company H2O is fabulous and very safety conscious.
A night out (or two) in Jaco (20 minutes north), great restaurants, fun clubs, shopping…. Something for everyone.
Go Zip lining – there are a number of zip lines in close proximity to Del Pacifico.
Sports Fishing - go catch Sailfish, Tuna, Mahi Mahi. The Costa Rica Pacific Coast is one of the top destinations in the world for sports fishing. Boats run out of Quepos and Los Suenos (30 Minutes North). You can also charter a simple fishing boat from Esterillos for a more low key fishing experience. Also fish off the beach for snook.
Take a day trip to Manuel Antonio National Park. Go hiking, swimming and nature watching in this tropical paradise. Round off your day with a eal in one of the many great restaurants to be found in the area.
The list goes on…
Or simply kick back and relax in this most special place.

Hi, my name is Sam Allen. I am english and currently live in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada - a great place to be!
I am President of Technip Canada, Technip is a global Project Management Engineering and Construction Company to the Energy Industry headquartered in Paris.
My wife Nicky is also English and is an Interior Designer. She is responsible for the great decor in our condo!
We have three kids, Ben, 23, recently graduated with a degree in International Business, Stephanie, 21 who has just started her Phd in Pschology at Dalhousie University in Halifax and Joshua, 18, who has just entered Engineering School at Memorial University, St. Johns.
We have lived in St. John's for 14 years. Prior to that we lived in Paris (5 years), and London (10 years) and in different parts of the UK before that.
We love to travel and do alot of it, both for business and pleasure. We have visited alot of countries over the years and we love Costa Rica.
We were looking for a place down south for a future retirement home. We vacationed in Costa Rica and fell in love with the country. It has so much going for it! Great climate, incredible diversity, people care about their environment, it attracts interesting people as travellers. The people are very friendly. Great healthcare. The list goes on.
We happened across the Del Pacifico Resort by chance, we were travelling down to Manuel Antonio for the last leg of a Costa Rican tour. We fell in love with the location. Secluded yet close enough to plenty of action. So much to do. We were totally impressed with the quality of the development and the vision of the developers. We didnt want to be part of just another gated community. Del Pacifico is much more inclusive.
Del Pacifico is such a great base to visit the rest of Costa Rica and with the quality of the road system improving all the time it just keeps getting better!
Our condo is probably the best situated in the development. The large swimming pool is at the bottom of our garden. We can walk out of our condo and be in the pool in 20 seconds! and, due to the low density of the development, it is not unusual to have the pool all to ourselves.
Its a five minute drive to the beach. The beach is spectacular. It goes on for miles. Its our favourite place on earth! Take an early morning stroll and you will soon be at peace with the world!
Alternatively arrange to go horse riding into the rain forest. Its free for owners and their guests! Ride to the top of the hills behind Del Pacifico and you will be rewarded with spectacular views!
We love to surf. We are just beginners, but just lying out there on your surfboard looking back at the palm fringed beach with the mountains behind is to die for! If you just want to watch the surfers, theres a great bar in Esterillos Oueste called the Rising Tide, right on the beach and a favourite spot for the surfing crowd. Or go to Hermosa Beach - the World Surfing Championships were held there in 2010.
