My wife and 2 children stayed here last summer and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The house is huge with plenty of room for many more but still felt cozy with the 4 of us with the home's antique character.
The location can't be beat if you're looking for the classic Maine getaway. Huge yard, fire pit, breathtaking views of Friendship from the front deck and there is also a large private dock directly across the street (perfect for fishing or just hanging out). The house is located at the end of a dead end road leading into a pristine cove filled with small islands. It's perfect for kayaking, boating and swimming since the water was also surprisingly warm. If lobster is your thing - then step across the street and pick them up from one of the neighboring lobster docks.
Friendship is a quiet fisherman town and it's a great location for day trips to other destinations like Camden, Boothbay and Rockland. Whether you're looking for an active get-away (bring your own gear) or relaxed vacation....you can do it all from this property.
Loved every minute and can't wait to get back for another week.

An Amazing Coastal Experience!

I can not say enough positives about this location and house. The house is a cross between a rental house and an inn. It's roomy with six bed rooms most including baths and refrigerators! Down stairs is a large living room great for those whole group activities. There is a dinning room for meals to be eaten inside or eat outside at one of the two picnic tables (one located out on a large side lawn, the other on the large back deck) Cooking can be an experience each night with three choices! The kitchen equipped with all your needs, the grill just outside on the back deck, or the stone fire place for those nights you just don't want to go inside. Now for the best part the front porch where you can look out and see a working harbor ( approximately 150 lobster boats). On the porch is where we meet many wonderful local residents. They were happy to have us explore the working docks and beach areas, help us to obtain licenses for clamming or collecting muscles and to share general information about the area. I can not remember when we last felt so at home while away. The area both immediate and within a half hour driving time holds so much for those of all ages. We recommend you check out: the road at the end of the point that is exposed only at low tide, Morse's sauerkraut, Moody's dinner, Borealis breads, Lake Damariscotta state park, Pemiquid point light house, Owls head beach and light house. The last not to miss attraction is the dock a few feet from the front door where they are happy to sell you lobsters to fill your pot each night or to sell you some for the road. This vacation rental has lived up to everything we had hoped it would be and more. So take a chance on a small town with so much beauty it's impossible to put into words and local people that live up to the name of their town. What a great experience for our entire group ranging in ages from 68-1. I know that we will return.
