There isn't much I can add to the prior reviews other than it was great experience staying in the penthouse. The pictures really don't do it justice. The serene views from both the rooftop garden and the rear patio are amazing and make for the perfect place to relax during the day or night. The kitchen is top-notch and well-equipped, there is more than enough room for hospitality (I had 30 people one night), the bedrooms are all very well-detailed and the beds are top of the line. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was key. My only regret was not putting the wine chiller to good use.

The property boasts all of the amenities that one would expect in a luxury resort, without the stale and antiseptic feel of large development and with the added bonus of having the owners on site and looking out for all of your needs. They really do make it a great place to stay and I'm hoping to be back there soon.

A group of friends (there were five of us in total) stayed here in late November 2012. The property was very nice and spacious and only a quick walk to the bars, restaurants and dive shops in the West End (about 5 minutes). There were 3 good size bedrooms and two bathrooms and two large patio areas and it was as nice as the photos displayed. We all recommed this as a place to stay and it is very affordable. The only downside is that we did lose power (and water) a few times but that is just a hazard of staying in the West End and usually the outages were short (1 to 1 1/2 hours). The owners were very helpful and picked us up from the airport and took us to get groceries before dropping us off. The West End is great for divers as there is an abundance of dive shops nearby. As for restaurants, we would highly recommend the Thai restaurant (I can't recall the name) and the Chicken restaurant (just ask around).

I stayed at this apartment for 3 months this summer while doing my dive master and dive instructor certifications at Coconut Tree Divers.

The place was fantastic! It has all the modern conveniences one could wish for. In addition the views from the roof top are superlative. I watched many a sunrise over Mangrove Bight and many a sunset over Halfmoon Bay. The ankle pool platform is perfect for just laying back and watching the meteor showers and the moon.
The roof deck is also a great place when you have visitors. There is a large grill that I used for several BBQs and there is plenty of room to socialize up there.

The furniture and beds are very comfortable and it was always very relaxing to come home and chill after a long day of diving.

I never had to use the air conditioner as the place is high enough up that there is always a comfortable breeze to keep the place at a good temperature. This is a plus as electric is quite expensive on the island.

The pool and the plantings around the premises are very nice and kept in good order.

Being only a 5 minute walk from West End is another bonus with this place. It's far enough away from the bars that it's nice and quite when you want to be done with night life but close enough that you don't need a cab or car to be in the thick of things. If you run out of groceries, Woody's is very close to run out for that last minute orange juice or whatever you need.

Jackie and Peter are very helpful with any information or help you may need. It was very nice having internet access as well as having a local phone both of which are provided by the owners.

The worst thing about the place is that I eventually had to leave and go home! I still haven't adjusted to home and often dream of Roatan. I will definitely go back and, if I get a chance, stay at Mangrove Dock again!

Just got back last night from a vacation of a lifetime in Roatan. There were 4.5 of us (Four adults and one 3 year old little dude). The group of us were looking at renting a place for the week and when this one popped up we knew it was the place for us. I emailed for details and Jackie, the owner got right back to me. We locked it up with a deposit and got to planning our big trip. Throughout the planning I would email Jackie for suggestions including a potential babysitter for our Son. Jackie was always extremely responsive and ended up setting us up with a fantastic babysitter that we used for our trip. Jackie's Husband Peter was waiting for us at the airport when we arrived to give us a ride. He even took us to the store on the way in so we could pick up an initial round of groceries which was awesome. When we arrived we were happy to see that the place was even bigger and better than we had imagined. Since we love to cook we were instantly impressed with the kitchen (so glad it was a gas stove). The place was decorated really well with original paintings by Jackie herself. The bedrooms were nice and comfortable and the back deck was great. The roof deck was huge and offered amazing views of the little bight back behind the property as well as the ocean. Unfortunately we ended up not using the roof as much as we had anticipated but it really is a great space. There is a little community pool for the 6 or so units that my Son spent a ton of time in. Jackie also set us up with a great dive shop (Scuba Roatan) and recommended some solid restaurants. Throughout the week Jackie and Peter were very responsive to anything we needed and even provided us with a cell phone to use in case of emergencies. We closed out the week with a ride back to the airport from Peter and some real heartfelt goodbyes. All in all we loved our stay in Roatan and having this place as our home base made it that much better. The place is as awesome as it looks in the pictures but is made special by Jackie and
Peter. Thanks for an amazing week, we hope to see you all again soon!!!

We had a wonderful time staying for two months at the condo. Jackie and Peter were wonderful hosts and provided all the information we needed. The location is excellent with warm breezes most of the time which means very few bugs at night. Needless to say the view is wonderful being right on the water.
The fresh water pool is terrific especially after diving all day or swimming in the ocean. I would recommend this property to all of my friends. We will be coming back.

I just got back from a week in Roatan at Mangrove Dock. It was even better than the online description! Everything in the unit is new and clean and the owners were very helpful and made sure we had a fantastic visit. The rooftop deck is perfect for star gazing at night and relaxing in the hammock during the day. This place is just a short walk from the West End bars and restaurants and a little longer walk to the West Bay. It is easily accessible by water taxi, which is probably the best way to get around on the island. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants all the modern amenities and a hassle free stay.
