Quiet, relaxing beach house - close to everything

Our stay at Pura Vida was excellent. The house was very clean and well equipped. Our family of 5 had no trouble having enough space, but the house could have easily accommodated twice that. The location was on the quiet side of the island, but close enough to attractions, stores, and services that it was not a problem to do what we wanted.
Our favorite feature was the wrap-around deck. The combination of shade and constant breeze made this space a very popular area. I spent hours there from morning coffee to a glass of wine in the evening. We even picked up fresh Red Snapper at the seafood market across the street and grilled it over charcoal. Wonderful!
I'd recommend the Galveston Island pass to those who want to see some area attractions and save money. We liked the pocket beach #2 and the Galveston Island State Park. Lots of good food options in the area to try.
Because the house is a pretty new listing, there are some basic things you might expect, but not find, such as salt & pepper, ketchup, etc. We also have come to expect things such as a notebook with information on area things to see and do ... comments and tips. We ended up relying on yelp.com and galveston.com mostly.
Despite the little nit-pick, it was a wonderful experience, and I would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends.
