Welcome to the Mountains!

This family friendly, 'REAL' log home is located on a slow moving portion of the Yough River that is great for swimming, fishing, hiking, biking or just relaxing by the water. The 7 Acre property is completely wooded with a fire pit and marked trails to the water. The water is not visible from the house (just a short 3 to 5 minute walk) but the wooded, mountain view from the covered deck is breathtaking. Be sure to see the pictures!

This Cozy Log Home is just several miles from historic downtown Oakland and 15 miles from the Deep Creek Lake / Wisp Ski and Golf Resort areas.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a riverfront log home in the woods that I rent, The home is safe, clean and comfortable with lots of character but it is not a brand new vacation home. The house is professionally cleaned.

Relaxing getaway

My husband and I were there for our 25th anniversary and my birthday and we really enjoyed our stay!! The cabin was beautiful and very comfortable. I especially indulged in the rocking chairs!! I loved just rocking and watching, walking and just being there. It is a beautiful place and we do look forward to going again. Thank you Connie for sharing this beautiful hideaway!!

Great Getaway

When we arrived at this home we were all very excited. It looked perfect. We could hear the river and it was very peaceful.
Honestly the pictures do not do it justice. It is a really neat house.
When the owner describes it as a home not a brand new vacation home it is accurate. It is very clean though. It was very easy to cozy right in. This was fortunate since it rained almost our entire visit. There was a great stock of family movies fortunately.
We did go on quite a few hikes and tried fishing.
The only things we really longed for was more comfy seating in the area where the tv was. There is one sofa and two chairs. Not good for lying down and watching movies, which we ended up doing a lot. I also found the beds to be a bit short. I have never needed extra length on a bed, being only 5'8, but neither my 5'10" husband nor myself could lie out straight comfortably.
In all it was a nice place to visit. Very home like and away from it all. We would like to go back on a sunny weekend and explore some more.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Families with Teenagers, Romantic Getaway
