All things being equal, would we stay here again? Probably, because it is right on the beach and the price was right. The owner, Glenda was very nice and helpful. We arrived at the airport @ 11:30 p.m. and due to lost luggage, we didn't meet her at the unit until about 2:00 a.m. She was kind and patient with our 2-hour delayed arrival. Condo was clean. Mattress was a full size, not a queen (although it sat on a queen frame). Shower partially worked (could only use hand-held wand) as floor flooded if used the overhead shower. Did not drain well - always stood in 4" - 5" of water and every day had to wash towels that were soaked on the floor -- not something we enjoy doing or paying for on our vacation. There is one piece of furniture to sit on in the living room (unless you count the two small hassocks which are unsuitable) and this sofa sagged greatly in the middle - uncomfortable. Walgreens is more like 8-9 blocks, but walkable - check out online map. Pueblo, the nearest grocery store, is a 5 minute taxi ride (12+ blocks) if you are carrying groceries. Liked the restaurant (on the water) a few buildings away. Wonderful, sandy beach with small waves and safe swimming. No one walked at night on this ocean-front street - use a taxi. Kitchen needs to be organized (the plates and glasses are stored in the living room under the tv and if all of the non-kitchen items stored in the kitchen were to be stored in the large walk-in closet, well, it would be nicer. One dish towel was not enough. Ample toilet paper and paper towels. Pretty decor.
Owner's Response: We would like to thank the guests for taking the time to write this review. However, we feel this is an unfair review and we’ll go through each point for a clear understanding. It seems to be that the issues are: 1) mattress, 2) sitting space, 3) kitchen organization, and 4) shower. 1) Bed and mattress are both a regular queen size, we can provide specs upon request or you can check the mattress label upon arrival. 2) As advertised, this is a 1 BR apt. with a Kitchen/Living Room area. Pictures clearly show that there is only one queen size sofa plus three stools. 3) We appreciate the suggestion on how to re-organize the kitchen items. However, there are not non-kitchen items stored in the kitchen cabinets and the plates and glasses are stored in the server (under the TV) located only 3-4 feet away from the kitchen counter. With that being said, we truly believe that at the end there is only one true issue, the shower. 4) When the guests checked in we specifically explained that we had an issue with the shower and we gave clear directions on how to avoid the leak. At that point we were waiting for a special order part that was going to be replaced by the plumber on Saturday July 13, 2013 (this is the day the guests were supposed to check out). Well, on Saturday July 13, 2013, when the housekeeper and the plumber showed up at the apt., they realized that the guests were still there. After contacting the guests, we were told that they reserved through the 13th of July. After explaining without success what was going on, we e-mailed them the reservation they (not us) made that stated July 13, 2013 as the check out date. Even though they mistakenly picked the check out date, we told the guests that they could stay an extra night as the next guests were checking in on Monday July 15, 2013. Therefore, the plumber left and he was not able to perform his job. The next day, on Sunday July 14, the plumber was not available. The following day, on Monday July 15, another guest had to check in, which did not allow the plumber enough time to do the job. Finally, on July 27, 2013, after the current guests check out, we will fix the shower issues. In conclusion, we welcome all the reviews and we’ll be more than happy to assist guests 24/7. We try our best to provide a 5 STARS service but we can only do it with the guests’ cooperation, constructiveness, understanding, and most of all honesty.
Eraclio & Glenda
