House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 9)

You will love the comfort of our beach home. It is a large home (1,775 sf) in a great part of Mission Beach that we bought because of its great location, large floor plan, nice bedrooms, closeness to the bay, the ocean, restaurants and numerous activities.

Tile and wood floors through out. 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, 1 on each floor, provide lots of privacy and make it perfect for several couples or a couple of families. Two families can easily share this house with queen bed on the 1st floor and queen bed and en-suite bathroom on the 3rd floor. The 2nd floor has a bedroom with a full size bed along with an extra long and deep queen pull-out sofa bed in the living room. There is an extra twin bed available for the master suite. 2 car garage a great amenity for the beach as well as a in-home washer and dryer. The entire house was remodeled in September of 2011 including brand new furniture inside and out.

Being so close to the ocean, the bay, restaurants, shopping and every type of water and land sport makes it so comfortable and relaxing. You can walk or ride bikes to nearly anything you may want to do. With the bike and walking paths around the bay and along the beach, there is really no need to take your car out of the garage once you arrive. (2 bike rental shops less than 1 block away)

Have breakfast at the Mission Bay Cafe on Mission Bay is a must. Or a great morning walk to the historic Crystal Pier and you can enjoy Kono's Cafe for breakfast or lunch. Walk to World Famous, Guava Beach, Nick's at the Beach, the Green Flash for great dinners. See the sunset. Catamaran Resort and Spa is a short walk away if you want to workout in the gym or want to be pampered.

Golf? Catch a quick 9 holes of golf on the Mission Bay Golf Course (3 miles away) or drive up the coast to the famous Torrey Pines Golf Course (10 miles away, 36 holes on North and South courses and home of 2008 U.S. Open). Riverwalk and Presidio Golf Courses are only a few minutes away.

During the summer, watch the fireworks at Sea World every night from the 3rd floor balcony or sit on the sand on the bay. Visit Humphrey's by the Bay for an outstanding outdoor concert. Jump on the bikes to visit JRDN at Tower 23, Cass St Bar and Grill or The Fishery, or visit any of the great spots on Garnet Ave for shopping and great fun bars/gastropubs/restaurants.

Perfect location for riding your bike along the beach or around the bay, or take a walk and enjoy a sunset. Great front yard for bar-b-ques and just relaxing from a long day of activities.

About Tim & Jann

Tim was born and raised in San Diego, graduating from San Diego State while living in Mission Beach. After living around the country for several years, training for the US National and Olympic Rowing Team he returned to Southern California and S.D., living in Mission Beach and Pacific Beach.

Jann also traveled and lived in many places as well. A native of SF she has always loved San Diego. When she and Tim got married they built a beautiful home in Pacific Beach with views of the ocean and bay but always wanted to live on the water. Our jobs took us to Newport Beach in 2007 but we have always wanted to move back to the San Diego beach life style which is so unique, inviting and relaxing.

Although we travel a lot we always come back to San Diego. This is the home that we plan to retire to someday. Retirement is still a few years away for us, but in the meantime we are happy to offer and share our lovely home to those who love or want to experience living at the beach.

Why Tim & Jann chose Mission Beach

When Jann met Tim, he lived in Mission Beach. When she moved to live in San Diego, she loved the beach and the lifestyle. We built a beautiful home in Pacific Beach near Mount Soledad and La Jolla and the beaches.

We moved to Newport Beach for Jann's promotion a few years ago. We enjoy Newport Beach but when we started to talk about where we would like to live when we retire someday, our thoughts immediately turned to returning to and living in Mission Beach and once again enjoy living the beach lifestyle that we loved.

This is the house that we will plan to return to live someday. We love the outdoors and this location definitely provides that. The access to the beach and bay are unsurpassed. The activities of the area are limited only by your energy and imagination. Or simply sit down, relax and enjoy the peace and serenity of the bay, or the energy and activity of the beach.

What makes this house unique

Great location in Mission Beach just steps to the sand. We lived in the house for the first month while we remodeled and loved every minute of it. We have built two homes from the ground up. Jann loves decorating and did a wonderful job decorating this house, again adding to the comfort you will experience in this home.

So many things to do! Mission Bay Sport Center and the Catamaran Resort and Spa are both a short walk away and have every water craft or water toy you could want. The Catamaran Resort and Spa is a full service spa with a great fitness center that looks out onto the Bay. There are two great bike rental shops that are less than 1 block away.

Great access and easy walking distance to restaurants and things to do. World Famous, Nick's at the Beach, Guava Beach Bar and Grill, The Green Flash are all walking distance. The list of restaurants within riding bike distance is too long to list here.

If you have a special event (besides vacationing in our house) - a party , a wedding, a reception, an anniversary party - and need a special place to rent for the occasion, ask Tim about the Garty Family Pavilion at the San Diego Rowing Club for more information.

What a beautiful place and great location! We stayed here for fours nights and loved every minute of it. The house was outfitted with everything we could need for the beach or just having breakfast, lunch or dinner at the home. They have bikes to get around if you don't want walk or take the car out. They also have an awesome outside area to hang out at night and socialize with your neighbors. We have a four and two year old so we had to set some ground rules being at a new house with some breakable things at their eye level. But we got that all figured out and were able to enjoy the vacation without having to yell at them. It is steps from the beach on the bayside which couldn't be a better place for young children. Oceanside is really close also which the kids had fun running away from the waves. Obviously everything is really close around that area so we were able to get out to sea world and the zoo which are both top notch places to visit. We really enjoyed that visit and Jann couldn't have been a better host. She checked on us regularly to make sure everything was alright. I would definitely stay here again once we make it back out to the west coast. Thanks again!

Beautiful Bay/beach Home June 30 - july 10 2012

My family and I spent 10 wonderful nights in home from june 30-july 10th 2012.Equipped with everything you would need. Ate breakfast lunch and dinner on the front patio. Beautiful decor and very clean and comfortable for 2 families. The bikes were used alot and the garage was handy. Great location.

Great weekend rental

I rented this home for an extended weekend for my daughter's UCSD graduation. It suited our needs perfectly and most everything was within walking distance. Loved the patio with a new bbq and firepit for a family dinner. Everything was new throughout the house and the location was great. Got great restaurant recommendations from the owner, who was a pleasure to work with. My only regret is that we were so busy with graduation that we couldn't stay longer and enjoy more of Mission Beach.

Beautiful Beach Home

We had a wonderful time staying at this home! The photos show the home acccurately and it is kept up very well. We had a group of 9 (2 families - 4 adults, 5 kids) staying there and the layout accomodated us well. We appreciated all the amenities the house included such as the washer and dryer, beach umbrellas, beach chairs, gas grill, firepit, and bikes! It was peaceful and we enjoyed being a short walk to the bay and beach. The owners were great to work with and promptly answered all of our questions prior to and during our stay. I would definitely recommend this house to others.

What a gem

Last minute rental. Were fortunate to find this house. Large and comfortable and great location. 3 BR's and 3 BA's on 3 floors was perfect for combination of adults and kids. House could just as easily accommodate 3 couples.

Had previously stayed on the beach side of Mission Beach and it was a bit busy and noisy for liking. This house is 2 doors from the Bay which was wonderfully peaceful, but still only 1 block from the ocean, so the beach and ocean were still conveniently close.

Family enjoyed the amenities of the home and the variety of activities mentioned that were available in the area was no exaggeration.

There has obviously been a lot of work put into setting up the house to comfortable for their guests.

Will definitely look forward to visiting here again next year.

Fabulous Home

This place was so comfortable, beautifully decorated and the location was perfect for everything needed and wanted to do. The two car garage was great because parking can be difficult at the beach. The washer & dryer were a god send.

The three separate bedrooms and baths made for great privacy. Had everything they needed. Looking to try and come back either this summer or next year.
