My family and I had a wonderful time staying at this B&B. The owners are very gracious and took the time to talk with us. The location is close enough to the action but far away enough from any craziness at night. The food items provided were excellent and had a Dutch charm. As the B&B itself goes, cleanliness, size of the rooms, comfort of the beds, availabitly of crib, and climate control were all above expectations. The owner is nearby for quick questions and requests. My family of 5 and the related luggage all fit nicely with room to work around. Towels were freshened regularly too. Ask the owner about airport transfers, as his person and price beats the standard rates found at the airport or train station.

Our family of 5 stayed 3 nights here and I could not have hoped for a better location and set up. We used both of the bedrooms and had the apartment to ourselves so I cant speak to what it would be like to share the space with other travelers. That being said, we found the space to be very cozy and well organized. Bathrooms were very clean and modern. All our breakfast needs were restocked every day while we were out touring around. Owners were away but had their daughter looking in on us each evening. She was lovely and helped with restaurant choices and reservations.
The apartment sits across a narrow one lane street from a small canal and we spent every evening out on a little bench watching people cycling by and cruising little boats through the canal. Really magical! The street is very quiet at night. The location of the flat is so perfect for walking to all the other canals and areas of interest. We were so happy with our choice. I would go back in a second!!

The accommodations were great for two couples or a family. The breakfast goods were quite sufficient for whatever you may desire including yougart, granola, fresh eggs, wonderful grainy bread, cheese, juice, coffee, and tea. The Jordaan area is within easy walking distance to restaurants and bars or tram and buses. Chris and Clarita are very accommodating and helpful. I would be happy to return for another stay at number 189 Bloemgracht. Parking is a nightmare and we would have done better to go back to the airport and rent it when we started to head south. The driving is not so bad but the parking expensive and impossible close by so the car was parkied outside of city centre which was a walk, tram, and train ride to retrieve it.

My wife and I, along with our travelling pals, recently stayed in this apartment. Newly built, beautifully done, and comfortable. Chris and Clarita provided breakfast goodies in the refrigerator (milk, eggs, juice) and pantry (bread, jellies, coffees). We really liked that we could be on our own schedule regarding breakfast, as we made our own. The hosts were very helpful in making reservations and arrangements. There is nothing I can think of that could improve upon our recent expereince there. You won't be sorry. And the LOCATION!!

We rented both rooms here (one for my mother, the other for my husband & me) and it was a perfect arrangement for our week in Amsterdam!

Owners Chris & Clarita are the perfect hosts, from accommodating our early arrival, to stocking the kitchen with a variety of delicious breakfast foods, and even arranging for a taxi to take us to the airport on our last day (we didn't bring a cell phone). Their recommendations for meals in the neighborhood were spot-on (we loved Foodism, Burgers Patio, and Long Pura).

The location is an excellent home base for exploring the city. Just 1-2 blocks' walk and you can catch a tram or taxi from Rozengracht or Marnixstraat. Bloemgracht itself is a picturesque canal with lovely homes and businesses lining each side. The neighborhood feels very friendly and safe.

The 2 bedrooms in Bloembed B&B are comfortably appointed, each with its own en suite bathroom with shower. There was always plenty of hot water, with excellent water pressure. The kitchen (shared between the 2 bedroom suites) includes an under-counter refrigerator, a Senseo coffee maker (we loved the coffee!!), an egg cooker (which Chris kindly taught us to use), and a sink. And of course dishes and food! :-)

The entire B&B was spotlessly clean. In addition to a number of helpful maps, brochures, and travel books, the owners provided a netbook with wifi, which was such a nice touch.

We had such a nice time in Amsterdam, and so much of that had to do with our peaceful home base at Bloembed B&B. Thanks, Chris and Clarita, for being such fabulous hosts!
