Decent place to hang your shingle

Decent place but I think it's probably best for people on a short leave and not for those who plan to stay longer than 5 days. Basement studio apartment is based in upcoming Hayes Valley, a nice, trendy neighborhood with bars, cafes and shops right around the corner. Neighborhood is pretty hoppin' from Thursdays to Saturdays, despite retailers closing early. Easy access to public transportation too and a 30 minute walk to the heart of downtown Market street and it's just blocks away from San Francisco City Hall. This minimalist place itself is decent, although there were a few drawbacks such as there being no DVD player, despite what's listed in the amenities, but it does have a massive wall mounted TV and Comcast internet/cable service (the remote control connection and the On Demand service proved to be flaky, despite the mounted adapter to the TV, so you may find yourself getting up and turning the TV off at an angle). There are free washer & dryer machines in the garage but there are no hangers or an iron/ironing board within the apartment that I could find. The queen size bed is definitely "custom" as it's an extension of the cushioned bench you see lined up against the wall with an extra thick egg crate, which didn't make it terribly comfortable so there's no mattress (wouldn't recommend that for someone with a bad back or has sleeping troubles). Two tall chairs line up against a long dining counter in between a small walk in kitchen, which realistically there's room for one person to really cook. There's an abundance of linens and towels, and a fantastic bathroom (shower pressure is great). Jonathan the contact is very friendly, helpful and quick to respond for any needs. Overall, I would definitely list this place as "budget" but certainly not "romantic", unless it's in relation to the neighborhood, which is perfect to bring a date. Highly recommended for those on short trips who don't plan on spending much time in the apartment.
