Best Cabin EVER!! You want to stay here!!
We stayed here over the holiday weekend and it was the BEST!!! We had two families (7 people total) and it was perfect for us, though it would definitely fit a few more if needed. It was cozy and intimate, but also big enough for people to retreat to their own space if needed. The cabin itself is beautiful - a real Vermont cabin, solid wood, a stone fireplace, and very well decorated (not cheesy at all). The kitchen is large and spacious and well stocked for cooking holiday meals. Downstairs is a pool room and full size pool table that is in excellent condition. The beds were all very comfortable with down comforters and nice linens, plenty of towels as well. We spent a lot of time around the huge fireplace in the living room playing games and telling stories - it is a wonderful space and very well-stocked with firewood. There are two other wood stoves as well, warm and cozy! They also were very accommodating to our dog, who enjoyed they cabin and playing outside in the snow as much as we did. The town of Lincoln is a few minutes down the road, very small and cute, with a small General Store. Bristol, a slightly larger town is about 10 minutes away with a great bakery, a grocery store, and the Bob Cat Cafe restaurant if someone was looking for a night out.
We had gorgeous weather and a white Christmas, and the views from the cabin couldn't be better!! A frozen pond right outside the front door, a large deck that looks out to the woods and the mountains. There are miles and miles of well-cared for hiking trails for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, or just winter hiking. The cabin is also just a few minute walk from access to the VT Long Trail for some of the best hiking in the country. The cabin is the last one as you head up the Lincoln Gap road, and just past it the road is closed in the winter (no access to Warren through the gap) which allowed for some of the funnest sledding you can imagine! The caretaker, Jerry, was very helpful and friendly, and even took us up the road on his 4-wheeler for some sledding!! Overall, the cabin is very-well cared for and maintained. It is a rustic cabin, but has all the modern amenities you need. I would recommend this cabin for anyone who is looking for a truly wonderful escape. We had a wonderful winter holiday, but will DEFINITELY be returning in the summer for some sunshine, swimming in the pond, and lounging on the huge deck. Thank you so much for sharing this cabin with us!
