Retired Professors Loved the Studio
We (a recently retired couple) stayed at the Studio in October 2013. The experience was superb. The Studio is exactly as advertised and illustrated on the web site. A beautiful, modern apartment. The location is marvelous for walking around Paris: a short walk (5 minutes or so) to the Pompidou, 10 to fifteen minute walks to Notre Dame, the Louvre, and several inviting, lively café districts. The Studio also is close to two Metro stations, there are small grocery stores in the neighborhood (we had breakfast in the Studio each day) ATM’s and good bakeries nearby, and for the times when you just want to eat in the ‘hood, there are decent cafes in the same block and adjacent areas. The neighborhood is lively. Locals and visitors exude joyfulness. Plenty of English speaking folks to help you out if you have little or no French. At the end of the day, when you are tired, it is comforting to know that the Studio’s central location is easily accessible from any point in Paris. There is a small (two-people maximum) lift to get you up to the Studio doorway, and of course there are stairs if you want to skip the lift. The Studio is clean, indeed, immaculate, well organized, and comfortable for one or two persons. Philippe, your host, is delightful, helpful, and methodical; for instance, the booklet he has prepared for you on the neighborhood, on Paris and the Studio is not only invaluable, it is interesting. The pullout bed is surprisingly comfortable; it is Queen Sized: one of us, the husband, is a six foot two inches male, 230 lbs., and the wife is a normal-sized woman: we both (most importantly, the wife) slept perfectly. We would re-visit Philippe’s Studio without a second thought.
