We recently spent ten days in California, staying in Jane's lovely little home in LaQuinta! The house was exactly what we expected from the pictures and description on the website. The directions were good, but we also had a GPS which took us right to the door --it was very dark and there are not many street lights. We were glad we had a flashlight with us to find our way around when we arrived at the house. Thanks for the welcome basket and Valentine's greeting -- that was very nice!
The house is very clean, comfortable and well stocked with everthing we needed for our stay. The backyard is lovely and even though the pool was too cool to use at this time of the year, we made good use of the patio and hot tub, and enjoyed soaking up that warm California sunshine (we are from the cold north)!
We had done some research, so found many things to do and see (for non-golfers like us). We made a few trips in to Palm Springs (gondola ride, McCormick Class Car Auction, Air Museum with a great Bob Hope display), visited the Palm Canyons, Indio, the Salton Sea with a lovely drive up to the interesting little town of Julian, Joshua Tree National Park, and a few museums in the area. We found the Coachella Valley area to be lovely and most interesting, and we will go back someday!
We loved Old Town (a short drive from the house) and especially the excellent eating establishments right there: Stufft Pizza was very good (and always busy), Solano's Bistro became our favorite lunch spot, The Grill on Main was excellent, Hog's Breath Inn for a special birthday dinner, and the Crab Pot nearby was fun with good food. We did a little grocery shopping at Ralph's in The Village, but we also drove out to Henry's Market on Highway 111 (there are many other good restaurants, etc. within easy driving distance).
The rental process with Jane was simple and easy, and we appreciated the e-mail with information on the house and the area. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable "home away from home". The private, peaceful and well landscaped backyard is such an added bonus!

Brief stay on a golf trip, the property was as described and the photos reflected the amenities and appearance. The house and grounds were very clean and well maintained. The owner was helpful and responsive. Although our stay was short we would definitely recommend the property to friends and we would book again in the future.

We spent another terrific week at the La Quinta Pool House! We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Jane on this visit. What a real treat! As always, Jane's home was extremely well stocked with all the amenities you will need. Please read my review posted several months ago because it "says it all." The desert is beautiful in the winter months. The fabulous jacuzzi is a special treat at night. Jane is continually improving her home with things like a new BBQ, new kitchen table, patio work and decorations. It is a pleasure to rent a home that the owner takes such pride in and she strives to make sure her tenants are comfortable and happy. We had a question on how to work the TV/DVD and Jane and her daughter responded immediately. We hope to return during the summer. I also want to have my annual "sister weekend" with my 6 sisters in this inviting home. Thanks again, Jane, for sharing your home with us.

We had a wonderful three night stay in La Quinta enjoying the "Pool House" and all it had to offer. The arrangements to rent this home could not have been easier. We have traveled extensively and have rented MANY homes through VRBO both in the US and Italy. The ease of renting Jane's lovely home will have you searching no more! Jane responded to all our questions immediatley, Payment for rental was simple and straight-forward. The rental process CAN be a problem but that is not the case here. As previous reviews have stated, this home is very comfortable, clean, well-stocked with EVERY ammenity you could wish for with the added bonus of one of the lovliest back yards we have ever seen in the desert. We owned a home on a fairway in Indian Palms CC for 8 years which we sold this last year. My husband and I agreed that having the complete privacy and serenity to enjoy in the back yard was even better! It was nice to arrive and have small ammenities in the home like kleenex, toilet paper, paper towels and dish soap. You'd be surprised at the rentals that do not supply these basic essentials. There was even a box fan, hair dryer, pool towels and plenty of hangars too!!Having Netflix on the Living Room TV was an unexpected bonus. With all the comforts of home at our finger-tips, we want to thank Jane for sharing her home with us. The surrounding area was extremely quiet, we never heard a neighbor and the beds are amazingly comfortable. We were able to relax, rejuvinate and enjoy the comforts of a home that had a very welcoming, cozy and comfy feeling the minute we opened the front door! The AC was turned on for us before we arrived which was a real plus on a 108 degree day. We have already booked a week to come back in February. This home is a STEAL of a DEAL for this location. You are close to shopping, marketing, restaurants, entertainment, hiking trails and much more. La Quinta Cove is a lovely area. We hope to return many times. Thanks again, Jane, for being a positive and trustworthy owner. You give VRBO a good name and your home a real treat for all who are lucky enough to rent your home. I know I promised that I would write a short review however I can't say enough about our positive experience.

My husband & I have just arrived back in the UK after a glorious week at Jane's La Quinta home. It's not in my nature to envy other people, but I would love to live in the US, own this little gem in the desert and visit as often as as possible, so this is a first! I loved the comfortable feel of the indoor space: big squishy sofas, great sleep on the huge bed, air conditioning, hot water, so clean & well kept everything we could have wanted or needed. But the outdoor space was simply my favourite place to be! The pool was just perfect for cooling down in the 104 degree heat, and sharing the garden with the assorted varieties of birds, who adored being there too, was a pleasure! Great quality garden furniture for BBQs in the evening or relaxing under the night sky! Jane was fantastic to work with, easily taking the booking from the UK, and being contactable when we needed her before we travelled and when we had arrived. I would definitely recommend Jane's home to my friends, and I plan to go back perhaps next year. We loved La Quinta, not so many gated communities, so nice to walk around, though we did visit all of the other towns in the area. The River at Rancho Mirage is a lovely area to stroll in the evening & drop into the Cheesecake Factory! 1000 Palms Oasis is very interesting, and a nice easy walk around. Shopping is terrific in the area from very high end in Palm Desert to outlets at Cabazon. Overall, a fabulous holiday and one we will do all over again :)

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) just returned from a fun filled and relaxing 7 days at this wonderful La Quinta property. The owner of the property is very friendly and accessible. Home was very clean upon arrival and everything in working order. Of course the pool was a big hit with our son and daughter (ages 11 and 4). One thing my wife and I liked very much is the pool is viewable from the kitchen, dinning room and living room. So we could always keep a watchful eye on our kids in the pool while watching tv or eating, cooking, etc. Plenty of pool toys too.

The property is located very close to the beautiful mountains and some neat hiking/biking trails; check out Oasis Cove a .5 mile hike. There is also a cactus garden around the corner from the property. We also went to the Palm Springs Air Museum which was a lot of fun too.

Wallmart, Costco, shopping and food restaurants are all close by. We ate at the Crab Pot in Rancho Mirage and the crab pot boil was great. We also went to the seafood buffet at Morongo Casino on Thursday. I think my family ate about 7-10 plates of king crab. We were definitely surprised by not only the quanity of seafood but the quality.

We'd definitely go back again and we are already planning on a spring trip to this property during my son's school spring break.

Janes house is great and we had a wonderful relaxing week there. The house is brilliantly organised with everything you could need easily available and labled. By far and away the greatest thng about this house for us was the pool. The backyard is private and not overlooked with great views of the surrounding mountains. The pool is in shade for most of the afternoon which was great to protect the kids who wanted to be in it all day. The pool itself is really shallow so the children could splash around with noodles and toys. We visited Joshua Tree and the Living Desert (watch for early summer closing) and had a really lovely week. We will be back.

I stayed at this home in La Quinta for several days with friends and relatives. I do not think I got out of the pool more than twice. Must have spent 10 hours in this wonderful pool coming out like a prune. The surroundings were incredible. The house is beautifully decorated and so clean. Everything worked. All amenities. Barbecued late at night when the weather finally dropped below 90 degrees. I thought I would never like the desert in the summer time. I will always come back here at this home in the summer. I am already planning next year for 2 weeks. Thank you, Katy, Jane, Olivia
