You will love your get-a-way in our cozy cottage with views of Shawano Lake. First thing to note is that this is not a chain hotel, or some string of rentals, this is our personal vacation retreat. If your choose to rent here you will be using our vacation home.
This isnt roughing it in some old fishing shack, but a comfortable year round home. This can be your base camp for day trips or a place to kick back and relax.
A large deck with patio table is a great place for outdoor dining. An adjacent patio is complete with gas grill and seating. Gather around the counter in the large kitchen and catch up on the days activities. Here your vacation can be as active or relaxing as you choose.
We are not on the water, but there are boat landings within a mile in either direction. Several marinas rent fishing boats, pontoon boat and jet skis. The Shawano County Park boasts a very nice swimming beach, play areas, and picnic sites, and it is within five miles.
We are within 35 mile of the Green Bay Packers practice field, Lambeau Field and the Packer Hall of Fame. This is a perfect place to stay during training camp and in season as we are within an easy driving distance. Approximate drive time is 35 minutes.
The Mountain-Bay trail is a state recreation trail that is approximately 1 mile away.
There are several casino's within an easy drive with the entertainment and dining options they provide.
This property was purchased from my parents in 1995. It was built in the fifties to house a gift shop. The conversion to a personal retreat was completed over several years while living and working in Shawano.
We come here for a relaxing get a way from work and the technology we are required to keep up with all week. We enjoy many of the local restaurants, the bike trails and the woodland surroundings.The local chamber has a schedule of art and musical events throughout the summer that can meet every taste.
Shawano Lake Rendezvous is very easy to find. There is parking on only one side of the street, this helps keep local traffic moving, while still allowing street parking for an extra vehicle.
We love the variety of activities in the area. Boating and all sorts of water sports. The local festivals are a great way to see the small towns around Shawano.

We love to take a walk down to the marina in the morning just to get a feel for what is going on in the neighborhood. Always keep an eye open for wildlife along the way. If you are quiet and early, it is a very easy walk.
If you want something a bit more active try bike riding around the lake if you use the sidestreets it is approximately 28 miles. There are several choices in Cecil to stop for breakfast. I reccommend doing this early as traffic can be heavy later in the day.
In the evening there are so many great local restaurants and traditional Wisconsin Supper Clubs. It is a difficult decision to stay in and cook together or go out and try the nights special or a long time favorite.
We sometimes can't decide how to spend our days. It is 35 miles to the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame, the practice field and Lambeau Stadium. During the football season we enjoy the pregame tailgate parties and will sometimes go even if we dont have tickets for the game.
Rent a boat or bring your own. Relax on the beach, bring floating rafts for the shallow swimming area. If you forgot yours they are available at several local stores. Whitewater rafting on the Wolf River in Memoninee and Langlade Counties. Be an active adventurer or a spectator. It is really all up to you.
The back yard is shady and quiet. A large attached deck is a comfortable place to read or enjoy a meal. There is a brick patio with a gas grill. It is wonderful to spend a little quiet time and just observe the stars in the night sky.
Within walking distance of a Supper Club, Martini Bar, and a local tavern. Your choice of appetizers, a full meal or just a sandwich.
