Head over to the Corsair Trail System and Highbanks trails thru the Huron National Forest. In the same area you will find snowmobile trails.

River Woods Lodge is a large, custom-built contemporary log home. It is nestled on 20 acres on the banks of the Tittabawassee River. As you follow the long winding drive you realize that you are in the middle of all that nature has to offer.

River Woods Lodge has lots to do without ever leaving the property. Relax on the deck and listen to the sound of the wind in the trees, the lap of water from the river, watch beautiful sunsets and spot the abundant wildlife. Gather around the large fire pit, play horseshoes or basketball. There is a tree house for the kids. Go hiking or ride your ATV on the trails.

TITABAWASSEE RIVER:

In front of our dock the river is between 1.5 to 2.5 feet deep. This area is great for small kids/wading. You can set out chairs place them chair where you sit above the water level. Go swimming and canoeing/kayaking/tubing down the river.

Depending upon the section of river you are in, the river moves at about 3-5 MPH. You can use rafts/tubes, etc. and leave from the far south point of the property. It will take about 2 hours to go the 3 miles (approx) to the bridge at Sugar River Road where you can get picked up. If you like to fish, the river does have some areas with deeper spots where the fish hang out (these spots are 6 feet deep or so and out away from the bank).

'PURE MICHIGAN' - ALL SEASONS.....

There are numerous recreational opportunities to enjoy in this beautiful area. Drive the immediate area and stumble upon historic Amish Farms, some selling fresh baked goods, eggs and fruit/vegetables. Just before dusk, drive the back roads around the property to spot the local wildlife…white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, etc.

Take a leisurely hike and view the scenery and wildlife at Hartwick Pines State Park or Huron National Forest (awesome views from the Overlook. Stop at one of the area's antique shops or go to West Branch to the Tangier Outlet Mall. Dine at Willow Tree restaurant in West Branch, have lunch or dinner at Lost Arrow overlooking the Tittabawassee River or relax at the Oasis Spa in Gladwin. Go for a hay ride at Lost Arrow Resort. Drive F-97 or M-18 north towards Prudenville/St. Helen to see the awesome Fall color change or head over to the West Branch area and drive north on Fairview Rd where you will pass the Ogemaw Trails for snowmobiling and X-country skiing…stop and go for a hike with your camera and see the beautiful color change up close (note your favorite trails so that you can come back again tohike, ski, snowmobile or ride your ATV).

River Woods Lodge is a great venue to relax and enjoy some time away. It was everything that was expected plus some. I was very impressed by the lodging and comfortable surroundings. The amenities were superb and it was just so spacious. The grounds were well kept and the woods were diverse. Great place to enjoy the outdoors or just as a retreat!

I would recommend to anyone looking for a great get away.

Comments:
My friends and I had a great time at the River Woods Lodge! The property is beautiful, well-equipped, and well maintained. There was plenty of space and entertainment for our group of 13. Lots of room on the property for walking, exploring, building campfires, and other outdoor activities. Interior is wonderfully decorated throughout. Kitchen was perfect for preparing and eating large group meals. Multiple large living spaces were great for watching movies, playing games, and relaxing. There looked to be numerous interesting area attractions but to be honest we did not stray far from the property during our weekend visit. This is not the first rental property I have booked for my friends and I, but this time I received multiple compliments from my friends for selecting this particular place. Property manager was responsive and easy to work with. This will definitely be the first place I look when I start planning next year's gathering.

Wonderful experience!!

we were a group of 6 families (14 adults and 10 kids) , rented riverwoods lodge over 2011 laborday weekend. Dealing with Threesisters was a breeze, everything was as described and very helpfful. The wellcome basket with two champagnes, two wine bottles along with marshmellows and choclate was pleasant surprise, Thank you! The house was meticulously kept, clean and extremely beautiful location The best part was the privacy it offers for big groups. Plenty of space indoors and outdoors. Thanks to Larry his wonderful wife and daughter, the caretakers of the property, were every helpful and prompt when needed. They did everything they can to help us when we lost power and water supply for about 10 hours the 2nd day of our stay. Love to come back again and would recommend to anyone in a heart beat. Only suggestion we have is have a back-up system to restore water supply when you loose power. Not able to use toilets for 10 hours with small children was the biggest inconvenience we had to face. otherwise Just loss of power would not have been that big of a deal.

Owner's Response: What a great group! So glad they enjoyed our home and "goodie basket". It was unfortunate for them that there was an area wide power outage during their stay. Toilets can be used for a while if used "sparingly" should the power go out. Even without electricicy, there should be enough water in the tank for a while. Hope to see this group in the future...we love when a group really enjoys their stay....that's what it is all about.
