Why Maria & Troy Sedgwick chose Vancouver

My wife and I moved to Vancouver for a short term stay in the summer of 2006, and absolutely fell in love with the city during our time there. The combination of upscale urban lifestyle and absolutely spectacular scenery just couldn't be beat. It was easy to see why Vancouver was rated the #3 city to live in in the world (behind only Zurich and Geneva) for the past several years. We knew we would be back. However moving to Vancouver was not an option, since both our families (to whom we are very close) live in Calgary. What to do, what to do?! Well, in the summer of 2008, we finally broke down and bought a place there. At least this way we could visit often, and 'live' there part time! And Downtown Vancouver is where it's at. Trendy restaurants, quaint cafes, the seawall and gorgeous waterfront...and still only minutes away from the Coast mountains and ferries to the Gulf Islands. Yaletown itself is one of the nicest, cleanest and safest areas in all of downtown Vancouver, while at the same time the most lively, urban and upbeat. We hope you enjoy Vancouver (and all it has to offer) as much as we do!

What makes this condo unique

Where else in the world can you:

- get up in the morning and go for coffee at a cafe on the water (Marinaside in Yaletown on False Creek)

- then take a waterfront jog along the seawall through one of the most beautiful urban parks in the world (Stanley Park)

- then hop in your car and drive 30 minutes for a short hike in the mountains where signs sometimes warn of cougar or bear sightings (I'm not kidding...though don't fret, this is rare)

Great condo for your Vancouver visit!

This small condo is in a great location. It was clean and very livable for our 5 day Vancouver-Victoria stay.
The Urban Fare grocery store next door has all you need and False Creek is just steps away, as is transit. Note that while you're not downtown, there is still traffic noise outside your bedroom window.
Also note that while there are nice amenities (gym, indoor pool, hot tub, steam), they aren't in the same building and you'll have to go outside to access them.
Yaletown is a nice area with many restaurants and downtown is a 20 minute walk.
The owners were great and the key exchange went smoothly. Would recommend this condo!

Lovely condo in great location

We were two couples, from Ontario and England visiting Vancouver for the first time. The accommodations were very nice, really comfy beds, clean bathrooms, great views with the floor to ceiling windows in kitchen/dinning and living room area. Nicely decorated and had everything we needed, although we didn't stay in much or cook. Just outside the condo building were plenty of restaurants overlooking the marina, and many more just a block away in the centre of Yaletown, also pizza places, and an upscale Urban market, although expensive, had good fresh food and a great deli for take out meals. Transportation by sky train, or the water taxi to Granville Island and taxi's all just steps away. This was a perfect location for exploring the city of Vancouver. We didn't use the pool or gym but it looked good. Lovely water garden to walk through. I would highly recommend staying here, and hope to go back again soon.

Perfect holiday condo!

We (two adults, 15 & 13 year olds) had a two week stay in this perfectly located condo. The location is ideal to explore all that Vancouver and its surroundings have to offer without the need for a car as the public transport is so good. Make sure you buy a book of Faresaver tickets at Urban Fare to save on your trips and also avoid the $5 airport charge. Can recommend the breakfast pizza at Sciue across the road and the lunch at The Flying Pig although there is no shortage of good places to eat and drink within a stone's throw of the front door. The condo was exactly as described, easy to get to and relaxing o stay in. The gym and pool were a well used bonus. We'll be back!

Wonderful stay

I have stayed this property in June and it was a wonderful stay for us. The location is perfect and it is very convenient. Very good super market is only 3 minutes from a room of condo. Yale town train station is also very close within a sand wedge shot distance! All necessary facility are well maintained and Sauna and Jim are also very good. It is the best location to enjoy a whole Vancouver city. I would like to stay here again in the near future.

Location! Location! Location!

We had a 9 night stay in the condo which was accurately described in the listing and we had no problems with booking arrangements.
The apartment was clean and tidy with plenty of space for the two of us, lots of towels and linen. We drove into Vancouver from Kelowna and had no problems locating the condo. Once in Vancouver we gave up the hire car as public transport is great. The Skytrain, buses, trams and water taxis are all conveniently located close to the condo. Urban Fair was handy but pricey, I would recommend Granville Island Market for really fresh produce and try Nesters, Choices or Safeway (if you have a car) for your basics. If shopping and cooking seeems like too much effort - there are lots of restaurants close by in Yaletown.
We loved whale watching, Stanley Park trails & sea wall, English Bay at sunset, Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge and trails and for a wee hidden gem grab a picnic and take a seaplane to Nanaimo then catch the water taxi to Newcastle Island it is beautiful.

Located 2 minutes from the subway and three minutes from the water taxi stop, the location was great. With no HVAC it may be a bit warm in August. Some street noise when the windows are open. Kitchen was well equipted and having Urban Fare, a high end grocer on the first level, was convenient beyond words. Walk to many of the city's best restaurants and clubs. Rooms were snug but adequate for two couples. Having glass walls on four sides makes it feel spacious. We will return next year

We had a great vacation that all started with this condo, it was perfect for my wife and I travelling with our young son and sister-in-law. Perfect location with good access to everything we needed, definitely handy having the grocery store in the same building. Condo was nicely decorated, clean and spacious. Having the full kitchen and BBQ, as well as parking saved us money, while the pool (which our son used daily) made our visit more enjoyable.

If we return to vancouver we will definitely rent this condo again.

Great location and fantastic accommodation

I had a 9 night stay in this 2 bed 2 bath condo in Yaletown mid June 2011. Tho location of the condo was perfect, with the Sky train station only approx 100 yards away and an abundance of places to eat within easy walking distance. The Aqua Bus terminal for trips to Granville Island was 100 yards down the street towards False Creek. The condo was exactly as displayed in the photos on this website, and is every bit as comfortable and luxurious as described. It was spotlessly clean (thanks to their most efficient and friendly cleaner/keyholder), and spaceous. There were 4 of us there (2 couples), and we had lots of room. Troy and Maria (the owners) were fantastic to deal with, and gave us lots of info prior to arriving. Overall we had a fantastic holiday in a fantastic city, and stayed in fantastic accommodation. I would have no hesitation in recommending this condo to anyone looking for great accommodation an a prime location.

Wonderful Location!

We stayed in this condo in the heart of Yaletown for a week with our 2 year old daughter and couldn't have been more pleased. This condo is less than a block from a metro stop and steps from the seawall. We both walked & biked to Stanley Park from here and were able to use public transit to go everywhere else in the city we wanted to go. We also borrowed the condo's bicycle so we only needed to rent one bike instead of two. The grocery store on the ground floor of the building is super convenient and we frequently visited the pool and fitness centre. If you're looking for a place to stay with a small child we highly recommend this condo.

Wonderful condo with all the practical amenities needed. We loved having the option of cooking in the modern kitchen or sitting out on the balcony with a drink. The neighborhood is quiet yet lively with people coming to/from the Seawall or local restaurants. Everything is within walking distance or if you don't have the energy or want to go father out the rail line is just a block away.

Also very important to note is that Maria & Troy are very pleasant to work with (both before and after your visit).
