A Must-Stay home away from home!
Before I begin this review, you viewers out there must bear in mind that going to Puerto Rico is about the culture, the sites, and of course the food! Houses out there are not your typical styles that you see in magazines on the shores of California as an example. It's not COMPLETE luxury. This hilltop retreat is about the scenery, the quietness, and just the over all seclution!!!
As you drive up the driveway, you're enveloped in a great canopy of talls trees and beautiful flowers. As you walk inside you see the wonderful outdoor kitchen space with breezeway doors, my boyfriend and I spet much time in here cooking in cool afternoons. A/C in the house is wonderful, not like many hotel rooms in Puerto Rico. Those tend to be damp and musty because of the island weather. The large tub in the master bath was heavenly after a long day in the sun. The water pressure in the showers are a bit weak, but it gets you clean. Towels are stocked, and LARGE closet spaces. :) In the master, you sit up in bed in the morning and you're greeted with large ceiling to floor windows overlooking the palms.
San Juan is a short 12-20 min drive, very close! It's the same distance away from Pinones, and Isla Verde beach, near Loiza. (very popular spots.) It's also a 20 minute drive to Old San Juan, awsome!! My borfriend and I had no trouble getting places! We rented a car for as little as $17.95/day!!!!! Caguas is a great destination, about 1 1/2 hour drive, a great place to get roast pig on the weekends, and great gift shopping ;)!!
All in all, my boyfriend and I are DEFINATELY going to do this house again, it really is a home away from home and by the time you lay your head on your pillow, all you'll hear are beautiful coquis. (Puerto Rican frog)
Owner's Response: We are just so happy that our guests enjoy their stay, since this is what vacationing is all about, relaxing and enjoying and hopefully taking back fond memories. :)
