This Cotswold-inspired Carmel stone cottage was built in 1925 and is in the heart of Carmel-by-the-Sea. A tall ivy hedge surrounds the fully fenced property, offering complete privacy, with shops, restaurants and theaters just steps away. Guests are welcomed by the murmuring fountain and beautiful cottage garden. Stone and brick pathways wind to the front steps and the original door, handmade of weathered wood and wrought iron, which opens to an unexpectedly large room with soaring ceilings and original wood floors. Beside the old Carmel-stone fireplace, is one of many cozy sitting areas located within the cottage. Bedrooms and bathrooms are all newly decorated luxuriously with designer linens and towels. This home offers a fully appointed kitchen, a breakfast bar for two and dining area that seats six. Cozy outdoor seating is perfect for morning brunch and coffee to evenings of wine or s'mores around a warm and inviting fire pit.

Wonderful house in Carmel!

We just spent 5 nights at this lovely cottage with our 3 young kids. The location is incredibly convenient to either walk into town, or make the 3 minute drive down to the beach. The house is somehow much larger on the inside than it looks--we had plenty of room for the kids and adults. It's absolutely gorgeous inside and out! My boys loved playing in the secret loft. We would love to stay here again next year. Thank you again!!

The cottage is amazing, exactly like the pictures. The location is great, we walked to shops and beach everyday. The cottage was very clean and the layout is perfect. You feel like you are experiencing the area like a local instead of being just a tourist. The area is very quiet and even though there are houses near you, you can't see or hear them. The kitchen is perfect, it seemed small, but more efficient than kitchens 3 times the size, if you need something it is there. The beds, as well as the pillows, are incredibly comfortable and I am very picky about that. Tamara (the owner) is awesome , she really worked with us and answered our many questions. This was our first time there and will not be our last! Highly recommend! There is so much to see in this area if you have never been...and the cottage is in the perfect location for you to do as much as you like.

I cant say enough about this wonderful cottage! We had a family of 5 that stayed here for 7 days and we had plenty of room. Loved the closeness to shops and cafes....just a very short walk. The owners were excellent to work with also. The pictures do not truly show how fantastic this cottage is. We had a great trip and hope to return soon!!!

Wow - we were enchanted! The cottage was a short walk to town and was just more than expected. THe Aquarium passes were great - saved over $70 for 2. The interior is so well done and very clean. The bedding was beautiful and soft. It feels so cozy with old fashioned wavy glass in all the windows. We had a fantastic time and I couldn't stop taking photos of the cottage, the gate, the flowers, the birds - it was just picture perfect! Thanks Tamara - you made our first trip to Carmel a memorable one. Hope to stay at the Poets Cottage again!

The property was just how it appeared in pictures. It was in a quiet residential area but close enough for daily walks to the downtown area and beach. The house comfortably accommodated my family of four people. The best thing about the house was that, where ever you stood in the house you could see leaves and green. It felt like a tree house. Very easy to work with owner, we were enchanted!

Awesome Cottage

This cottage is a perfect place to stay if visiting the Carmel area. It is easy walking distance to shops and restaurants, it also has quick access to Highway 1 for sightseeing trips. The feeling however is the one of quiet seclusion and privacy.

The cottage is well appointed with everything that you need, it has a great courtyard, and exceeded our expectations. The owners are very friendly, helpful and easy to work with.
