Fremont provides untouristy taste of Seattle: Choosing to stay at Linden in Fremont gives you a chance to experience what its like to live in one of Seattlites' loved neighborhoods. While the central location makes it convenient to get downtown to see Pike's Market, The Seattle Center, and other downtown attractions, guests appreciate being able to get away from the tourist centers and hang out where locals love to eat and shop. Personally, I'm not a fan of the resident troll, but he lives just around the corner, minutes, from your door. More to my linking, the quaint Fremont Public Library and the Fremont Baptist Church, a local landmark, are just down the street. If your stay is over a Sunday, you must not miss the well-established European style Fremont Sunday Market(yr-round). This location also places you close to other wonderful neighborhoods - Wallingford and Ballard.
Beyond Fremont: If you want to explore outside of Fremont, a short walk takes you to bus stops that will connect you to downtown and to anywhere else you may need to go in the Seattle area. Only 10-15 minutes to downtown Seattle with all that it has to offer: Fantastic shopping, Seattle Art Museum, Benaroya Hall, Pike's Street Market, Seattle Waterfront, and Space Needle.
The world-class Woodland Park Zoo is a 5 minutes drive north and the spacious Gas Works Park, 5 minutes drive to the east (walkable along the Burke Gilman Trail), provides fantastic views of the city and hosts a truly spectacular fireworks display on the Fourth of July!
The Fremont Guest House also provides a perfect base from which to explore the waterways and geological treasures of the beautiful Northwest: Mt Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park, the Puget Sound and San Juan Islands, St. Helen's National Park, North Cascade National Park, day trip on the Clipper to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. So much mor
Close to Fred Hutch, UW, and SPU: Our location has also worked well for guests coming for work or medical treatment at Fred Hutchinson and also is in close proximity to the University Medical Center and University of Washington campus. We are just across the canal from the Seattle Pacific University campus.
