Even on weekends you never feel like you arrived at the zoo, and on week days it’s extremely peaceful. The lake is perfect for the weekend warrior and/or the person who prefers to relax and enjoy the rugged natural beauty. Whether you are looking for a romantic getaway or the ultimate family vacation, this is it! The property includes; hot tub, fire pit, and many more amenities. Top Rated Fishing Lake. There are two resorts that offer great restaurants and weekend entertainment starting the opening day of fishing season (last weekend in April) through the rest of summer. Williams Lake is truly an oasis for everyone.

If someone would like to pitch a tent outside that’s fine, just make us aware so we shut off the irrigation sprinklers.

We are entering into our 4th year in offering our home to rent. Every year we continue to have more and more return guest. Many guests will be returning for their 4th or 5th time. Every year we reinvest back into the property trying to make everyone's stay better than the last time.

Wild Life:

As mention, Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge is nearby. The Refuge is open year round from dawn until dusk and has many walking and biking paths to enjoy nature at it's best. But frankly you don't have to go there to enjoy God's creatures. From the property you will enjoy Osprey's, turkey vultures, geese, swans, cranes, hawks, mallard ducks, humming birds and even the occasional Bald Eagle or during the winter Golden Eagles. That's just naming a few of the 200 plus feathery friends you'll likely see. Deer, elk, and moose can be commonly seen. There is an abundance of other creatures but typically they are only heard not seen (coyotes). Go to the Turnbull Wildlife Website to find more info.

Weather:

Four full distinguished seasons.

Summer - Spokane means 'Children of the Sun' in the local native language. Unlike Western Washington this part of the state is warm and dry during the summer. Because the area is surrounded by the mountains you can generally count on good weather during the summer months. Day time temperature highs from Mid June to Mid September generally are between 80-90 degrees. Ocassionally we may have a few weeks where we are pushing 100 degrees, but it’s a dry heat so even then it’s still bearable. Low’s during the summer drop to around 60 degrees (Perfect for night time swimming or pitching a tent and sleeping outside). Lake temperature during the summer hovers between 70 -82 degrees.

Fall – Most locals will tell you we love this time of year. September and October it rarely rains and the day time temperatures still hover between 70-80 degrees. The overnight lows are less predictable but early fall the temperatures range in the 50’s. By October you will start to see the changing of the colors and the best sunsets start to happen this time year. September is especially a great month, lake is still warm, fishing season is still open and kids are in school. So the lake is extremely peaceful and the wild life starts to be more abundant.

Winter – We will receive our share of snow and the lake will generally be frozen by the 1st of the year. The ice on the lake in January and February will be thick enough for ice-skating and even for snow-mobiles. The roads are well maintained, and snow plows will keep on top of it so access to town isn’t a chore.

Spring – By mid-March the ice is gone on the lake. This time of year the weather is the most unpredictable. March through May you might get summer like conditions but most often this is our wet season. Temperatures range between 50-70 degrees. Once you get to the month of May though you will generally get pockets of warm weather where you’ll see 80 degrees, but very unpredictable.

Water Craft Recreation:

Small to mid size boats up to 22ft are the ideal size for this lake. If you have a raft, canoe, kayak, row boat, small sail boat, modest fishing boat or the tricked out luxury ski boat you'll find this lake will give you hours and hours of enjoyment. We do provide a paddle boat for your pleasure. And our neighbors rent their kayaks or canoe for a modest fee. And both resorts have fishing boats with small motors for rent. This lake offers fantastic water recreation. Williams Lake is annually rated one of the best trout fishing lakes in the region, even if you don't have a boat we have caught our limits off our dock more often than not. Please note that neither resort on Williams Lake offers gasoline for your boat. We do offer several 5 gallon gas cans for your use, and when I'm able I will go to town to fill them up to save you the trip. Public access to launch your boat is open from dawn to dusk (Need Discovery Pass) or you can pay a small fee at the local resorts for their launching facilities. Just a side note water planes due occasionally land on the lake, so if you like to bring yours it is an option.

Columbia Plateau Bike Trail:

The Columbia Plateau Trail runs 130 miles between Cheney, Washington, and Pasco, Washington, on an abandoned rail bed. Parts of this trail are near by and can be connected to on many of the roads in the area.

Our Pet Policy:

Pets are family!!! We do charge a fee for fluffy and we do ask if your breed sheds more than average to please help with picking up hair or fur. Obviously needs to be house trained and listens to your commands. Yard by lake is enclosed, but if they are a water lover they will have free access to lake so be mindful of that.

Restaurants:

There are two fabulous restaurants at each end of the lake. 'The Bistro' is within walking distance of the property. Xanny's is a five minute drive or boat ride away. Both are apart of their respective resorts The Bistro ( Klink's Williams Lake Resort) and Xanny's (Bunker's). Each provide their own specialties. Customers are known to drive for many miles to indulge in these establishments. Check their web-sites for further details.

Cheney (15 Minutes):

Cheney is home of Eastern Washington University and is a small town which provides a variety of amenities. Grocery stores, bars, and terrific eateries. During the second weekend of July, Cheney host one the largest Rodeo's in the region that brings tons of cowboys and cowgirls from all over. Yee Haw!!!

Spokane (35 Minutes):

Spokane was the home of the 1974 World's Fair. This world class city is the Gem of the Inland Northwest. If a night on the town is desired your needs can be fulfilled. Riverfront Park is considered one of the most family friendly environments in the United States. The Spokane Falls, during the spring, are a must and can be enjoyed from the bridges or from the Gondolas directly above or from several fine dining restaurants.

This home was our parents retirement home. Our father passed on a few years ago. We three kids and our mother decided we wanted to share our home with you, so you too may make lasting memories and so we could maintain the property and make improvements each year.

Fischer Family purchased this chalet in 1989

Our father eyed this piece of land for several years. He dreamed of building his retirement home on it. In 1987 around opening day of fishing season his dream came true. Two years later our parents built their dream home. Dad would have been satisfied with a double wide trailer, you have mom to thank for the chalet. LOL. The house is perched on a solid piece of rock. As anyone who has been to or stayed at our place will tell you, you'll be hard pressed to find a better location on the lake. Your view looks straight down the lake and you are just a couple minutes walk from the Resort during the summer months.

Williams Lake is generally regarded as one of the best trout lakes in all of Washington. Best time to fish is from opening day to mid-June. Once the water warms up to around 80 degrees fishing is still good, but the skiers and wakeboarders start to take over. The greatest benefit about Williams Lake is the lake is 80-85% surrounded by cliffs. So the natural beauty hasn't changed much in the last 100 years. Plus the lake is never over-populated. Even on the weekends you never feel you arrived at the zoo, and during the week days you feel the lake is almost completely yours. We are entering into our 4th year of renting our home and we have thoroughly been overjoyed with our guest responses. At this point, most of our guest have stayed with us several times. Some will be back for their 5th time in just 4 years. Every year we try to improve our guest experience.

Perfect spot to unplug and get away from the world. Kelly (owner) was very accommodating, and the house was extremely clean! The wrap around deck was fabulous! Quick side access to put canoes and Kayaks into the lake. House lights up at night easy to see when paddling at sunset. Fire pit, outdoor seating, hot tub, quiet neighborhood, and coyotes in the distance! Will be back soon if you are not booked! Great place to spend a birthday!

First, the couple running this home are so wonderful to work with! When we got there Kelly gave us a quick overview of the home and then left us to get settled. There was a nice smore/popcorn/cider basket left for us to use - a nice touch. The house is very clean and well stocked. But the best part is the view! The house sits at one end of the lake and you can see all the way down the lake. It is easy to walk to the small resort next store if you'd like to try their restaurant or need to pick up something you forgot at the little store.
We had an amazing, fun time! If you want a place not far from town, but you feel like you are away from it all - this is a wonderful home on the lake!

we have rented several houses through craigslist and a couple through vrbo,This was the first time we did not have any surprises. The house was very clean and the grounds were beautiful. It was for my daughters sweet 16, the loft was perfect for the girls plenty of space and sleeping area plus we were not able to hear them from the master bed room downstairs. The kitchen was fully stocked(we packed a little too heavy ) The five minute walk to the resort was very convenient, my husband and I were able to walk down for a drink. The paddle boat was enjoyed by everyone. Kelly was more than helpful we arrived 20 minutes early , Kelly had zero problem let us in and showed us around, We had 16 people out for the day , from age 8 up to 65 everyone said how nice it is and no one felt crowed . I could go on on how great this place is renting it next year for sure , one last thing, the check out list is very short, there is no crazy expectations( ,we have experienced in other rental) Thanks again Kelley and if your able you should post more pictures of the grounds , the pictures you have do not do it justice.

Ultimate Lake House

This is the perfect getaway for friends and family. We had the best house on the lake by far. The owner met us on arrival and went out of his way to make us comfortable. There is a great restaurant within a 5 minute walk if you don't want to cook. However the house has everything you need. Kelly really made us feel welcome and we will make this a tradition every year. This is a perfect family weekly vacation home with wii fi and direct tv for that extra comfort. I know people from Tacoma and Seattle might think it's a little far but it is worth the drive. The fishing was great and has plenty of trout for everyone, but the house takes the bait LOL.

Best. Vacation. Ever.

Where to begin? For the 7 of us - 4 adults and three children - the location and amenities were ideal for a one-week vacation. The kids loved swimming in the lake, toasting marshmallows for s'mores in the fire pit, and family games around the dining room table. The adults loved the cycling, running, wildlife, grilling, and time to just hang out and decompress.

The property was clean, and extremely well stocked with towels and kitchen-related items. We hosted a party for 25 family and friends one night, and the layout was perfect - small groups or larger groups could congregate and move around easily. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, and were extremely receptive to any suggestions or requests we had.

We did not take advantage of dining at Klinks, literally a stone's throw across the lake, although I heard nothing but praise for that experience from locals (my mother has eaten there several times and recommends it). There was no cell service for AT&T, or almost anyone else (I think) - that could be a minus for some - and the land line was set up to only make local phone calls. Wireless internet kept us connected if we wanted to - and allowed the kids the ability to get online and play games if they wanted.

Would I recommend this location? Absolutely and without hesitation. Was it without problem? No, but just about as close to that as you could reasonably expect. Sometimes, the upstairs got a little hot, even with the AC running. The upstairs TV had cable (useful for following the Tour de France in the mornings!) but no DVD/VHS player, while the TV in the master bedroom had a DVD/VHS player but no cable. The cabin gets potable water from a well, so long showers or multiple loads of laundry + running the dishwasher were discouraged, but this was never a problem for us. One set of adults had to sleep on a futon, which was perhaps less than ideal, but the accommodations were otherwise lavish for a summer rental.

At one point when preparing for the party, I realized we didn't have enough ice. It took 15 minutes to drive into Cheney to get it. That's about exactly right for me - close enough that you could go into town to get supplies / find something you had forgotten to pack, far enough away that you never, ever heard traffic. I saw more deer than cars when I rode my bike.

Great for Entertaining

We rented only for one weekend, but it was the best weekend we've had in a long time. Friday night the wife and I dined on the lawn, before a fantastic sunset over the lake, and it was an incredibly romantic setting, also sitting on the dock after and listening to the lake sounds. The resort provides quiet music drifting across the lake until about ten. Sat. night, we entertained a party of 15, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The multiple levels on the deck were enough to keep it from being at all crowded, and provide intimacy for anyone wanting a moment away, as well as having plenty of space for everyone to be together. The barbecue provided was enough to cook a whole mess of steaks, the kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and utensils for our party prep, and overall the comfort was amazing and the property was very well maintained and attractive. The house is amazing, beautiful, and what a view! Kevin was very helpful, friendly and nice, and gave us a welcome basket of stuff to make S'mores! My only regret is we didnt have time to stay all week and bring the kids, because they would have loved it.
If I had one complaint, it would definitely be the bees. There are lots of bees, but they arent too aggressive, and nobody got stung, so all in all, it was pretty much perfect, and the price is simply too low.
It is rather far from Spokane, but its easy to find if youve got Google, and there are some stores nearby. Also, if youre coming for any amount of time, bring a boat. Of course, if you cant, you can always rent one at the resort around the corner.
Thats about it, really... Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend a stay here for any family or couple looking for some time away or a nice place to entertain friends. Thanks Kevin!

Williams Lake Getaway

My wife, parents, sister, and brother-in-law recently stayed at this quaint cabin on Williams Lake. Our stay was very enjoyable, and would highly recommend to anyone seeking time away from the hustle of the big city. My family and I are avid anglers, mainly all salmon, but were pleasantly surprised by the abundance of trout in the lake. Great size for BBQ’ing or a morning/evening of stories. The cabin has all the amenities of your house, but the satisfaction and enjoyment of relaxation.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Kevin and a generous welcome basket with all the S’mores fixing, and a bottle of sparkling cider. We felt very ‘at home’ after arriving, and immediately took advantage of everything the place had to offer. 2 minutes down the road is a nice resort community (Klinks) with a great restaurant. I do highly recommend reservations for dinner. We called a week in advance and only 2 reservations remained for a party of 6.

The cabin came stocked with all the kitchen utensils, plates, and glasses you could ever need. Onsite is a beautiful wrap-around, multi-tiered deck with hot tub and gas BBQ. The dock is a healthy size to accommodate a few boats. The yard was completely fenced-in for our dog, with plenty of room in the yard to run freely. Additionally there is a great fire pit to take-in a sunset while roasting marshmallows.

Overall it was a great experience, and a place I would highly recommend. Thanks Fischer Family.

Relaxing getaway weekend.

My wife and I were in need of a weekend away and for us it is usually difficult to find cabins which allow pets (we have 2 medium sized dogs). However, we found this awesome place and after contacting Kevin and Kelly stayed 3 nights. Kevin was there when we arrived to show us around, answer questions, and give some information about local restaurants. The view of Williams Lake is excellent from the big wrap-around porch and we enjoyed having the fenced-in yard for our dogs. The deck also has a hot tub (which could fit 4-6 people) and the yard has a fire pit for campfires. We were also pleasantly suprised to receive some complementary s'mores making supplies along with sparkling cider from our hosts. The house was clean and very spacious, definitely room for a family (master bedroom downstairs, twin bedroom upstairs, and a pull-out sleeper sofa in the upstairs loft). The upstairs loft also has a 3/4 bath and TV/entertainment center which includes DVD/VCR and a few movies. The kitchen is well stocked and a BBQ grill is available if you are cooking your own meals, otherwise their is an excellent resort within a <5 minute walk called Klinks. Their food and service was superb and they do have a website if you want to check out the menu before you go. We called ahead to make reservations, but this probably is not necessary until peak camping season. Otherwise, Cheney has food options and Spokane is not very far away either. We were also able to rent Kayaks from the resort nearby (Williams Lake Resort/Klinks) for very reasonable price, although the cabin does have a paddle boat and row boat available. The dock also has room for mooring a boat or pontoon and extends far enough from shore to do some easy fishing. Overall, our stay was very pleasant and we would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a place to relax, enjoy the outdoors, or hang-out with family/friends.
