The perfect family summer vacation spot located on Lake Michigan just north of Harbor Springs in Good Hart. A beautifully designed home, tucked into the woods, it is artfully furnished and well appointed with stunning views from the main living areas and master bedroom. The deck has a gas BBQ grill, table and chairs for outdoor dining as well as a porch swing and additional comfortable seating for relaxing and enjoying the Lake Michigan breezes. To take full advantage of the Northern Michigan summer starry nights, there is a stone campfire pit on the beach. The hammock just off the patio…heavenly.

Immediately upon stepping through the front door you know your stay will be special. Designed by a master woodworker and furniture builder and custom built by Darnton Builders of Harbor Springs, the home has many beautiful decorative features. A hand-crafted stone fireplace will warm you up if the nights are chilly. The kitchen is very well-equipped and is open to the living/dining areas and looks out onto the patio and beach

Things to do nearby

A few minutes away is the tiny charming village of Good Hart. The Good Hart Store serves up house-made sandwiches and baked goods. A weekly farmers' market features local produce and artisans works. An eclectic mix of home furnishings and jewelry is part of the flair at Primitive Images; along with a wonderful tea room and crepes during summer months. Serene roads and woods trails provide plenty of opportunity for hiking. Cross Village and Sturgeon Bay are a short drive north. Located on the bluff is a historical restaurant, an art gallery showing works of local artists is a popular destination.

Sports

There are several renowned golf courses within 30 minutes. Crooked Lake and Walloon Lake are an easy trip for inland lake activities - boat and jet ski rentals are available at several marinas. For cycling, try the beautiful paved bike trail that connects Harbor Springs, Petoskey and Charlevoix. Bikes are available for rent in Harbor Springs and Petoskey. Charter fishing tours for salmon and trout are available from Petoskey and Charlevoix and there are fly fishing guides in the area for stream fishing. For hiking, The North Country Trail in Emmet County covers 45 miles of trail from Petoskey to Mackinaw City, passing through large public land tracts including parts of Wilderness State Park. Swimming - enjoy the Petoskey State Park, Harbor Springs City Beach and Sturgeon Bay.

Remote and heavenly

If I could buy this house, I would! It is simply gorgeous. Every aspect of the house is exquisitely handcrafted. The location is remote, and perfectly located along the Tunnel of Trees. Close to the shoreline, the views are amazing. I especially loved the master bedroom and its picture window overlooking the lake. The owner has generously left some of his precious handmade tables and rocking horses. Only 20 minutes from Harbor Springs and 15 minutes from Cross Village, the house is a good home base for enjoying plenty of places to eat and explore. Sturgeon Bay is especially beautiful. We enjoyed our time "off the grid" and plan to come back.

The house is beautiful, comfortable and relaxing. There was plenty of room for our family of five adults and a baby. The kitchen is fully equipped, and we were able to cook a great dinner that we enjoyed on the patio. The views and outdoor areas are spectacular. We especially enjoyed our campfire on the beach on a perfect Northern Michigan August night. Karen, the property manager, was a pleasure to work with and recommended things to do in the Harbor Springs area. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
