Bungalow, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)

We are currently accepting minimum stay of Three (3) months.

Our cozy vacation home is located in the northwest community of Arbour Lake, which is

o close to several public and commercial places

o with quick access to downtown, and

o only an hour from Banff and Canmore

Arbour Lake is a community on the west edge of the city that prides itself on its walk paths and rolling terrain so excellent for hiking and biking. The community is also home to a major health natural food store called Amaranth. Right outside Arbour Lake is the Crowfoot Center commercial area where you can dine out at restaurants that include Montana’s, Denny’s, Brewster’s and Tony Romas, along with Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants. Fast food outlets in Crowfoot include McDonalds, Wendy's, Subway and Burger King. There is also a wide variety of establishments, including a Safeway, Paragon, Chapters, Sport Chek and the Cineplex, and the major banks are represented as well. On the perimeter are the Calgary Public Library and the YMCA.

Within 10 to 15 minutes’ drive from Arbour Lake are major centers like Canada Olympic Park, Northland Mall, Market Mall, Royal Oak Commercial Center and the Beacon Hill Commercial Center.

Our vacation home is at the crossroads: Trans-Canada (Highway 1), Stoney Trail (new ring road) and Crowchild Trail. Access to Downtown Calgary can be through either Crowchild Trail or Calgary Transit C-train via the brand new Crowfoot station. Access to the airport, to the new Cross Iron Mills outlet mall in Balzac, and to business and entertainment establishments in Calgary is quicker through the new “ring road” (Stoney Trail). As our location is on the west edge of the city, there is also easy access to Banff and other Rocky mountain national parks (Yoho and Jasper). A trip to Banff and Canmore will take less than an hour.

Our offerings include a nice cozy fully-furnished kid-friendly three-bedroom split bungalow with a deck back yard and 2 car garage, with amenities including use of range/oven, fridge, dishwasher, dining table, barbeque, in-house laundry, satellite TV, and wireless internet access.

We (family of 4) stayed in this wonderful home between August and September 2012. It was a marvelous experience. Being our first time in Canada, we were provided with all the supports and information needed. The owner was very nice and helpful. The house came with everything as described. We couldn't have asked for anything more. I don't think the pictures did justice to the beuty of this gorgeous home. It is so much lovely you will fall in love with it at first sight. As a result of our experience here, being new immigrants ourselves, we have decided to move permanently to Arbour Lake community.

This is the most organized place I have ever stayed at and I use rental by owner a lot. The house was very comfortable and well located close to main arteries. The owners were also the most helpful I have ever met. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will be asking for this house on our next trip.

I stayed here in a party of 3 adults and 3 children, while in Calgary for 10 days. We were all very impressed by the high quality of the accommodation. Everything was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the house is lovely.

The owners were exceptionally helpful. They answered our various questions pre-booking. They knew we were arriving after a long international flight, and were happy to wait for us until we first arrived. The house was very well stocked with everything we might need - down to newly bought family games (unfortunately we never had a chance to play them!). They had helpfully printed out informaiton on nearby shops and facilities, and were happy for us to call at any time with any questions. And yet they left us to ourselves during our stay: perfect combination! Additionally our deposit was promptly refunded, even before we had arrived back in New Zealand.

The house location was useful to get to Crowfoot, with a bus stop just 300m from the property (excellent, frequent connecting service with the LRT). Indeed when one of us failed to get off at the right stop, the bus driver actually drove his bus back to 'our stop'! We were in Calgary to find out about living there permanently, so needed to travel all over the city. Although the house is out in the northwest, we didn't find its location particularly inconvenient.

There is a nice green space in the valley not far from the building, with great recreation trails for running, and fields for playing frisbee!

I couldn't recommend this more highly. A great experience and introduction to Calgary and Calgarians.
