A nice place to walk around in Amsterdam
We spent one week in Amsterdam last August and decided to have the freedom of your own house hiring an apartment dowtown. We choosed this and it was a great option as it was confortable and well communicated, either by public transport or walking. It is only 15´minutes from central station and the way is nice, with tradicional pubs and boats along it, as well as bridges full of coloured flowers. You could also see big windows and something of his way of living through his glasses.
Although the house were not specially clean, we found on it all the thinds that made our stay confortable, such as good beds, two bathrooms fully equiped, international tv channels, and free wifi in all the house.
For those who are not familiariced with drying machines, take note that the washing machine is for both uses, althought we do not recomend it. As the weather was nice in August we did not use it.
One important thing to consider if it is your first visit to Amsterdam is that there are only a few a supermarkets and that two of them!!! are just around the corner of the apartment. Try the differents breads, they are delicious for breakfast, together with cheese, of course.
The house is situated in a narrow street, if you hire a bike you will leave it in the front, and if you hire a car to visit the surroundings you could park it outside which is free of weekends. There are public car parks, as for them at the tourist information centre, for a reasonable price you will have you car paid and also one public transport included to go and return from the house.
We recomend to see The Haage, Maduroland, Gouda, Edam and Harlem, to have a better idea of the country.
