A Wonderful Retreat!

In three words...the perfect getaway! First, the location...The convenience of a 3 minute walk to the Hiawassee River to fish, wade or tube was wonderful. We also enjoyed the short 15 minute drive to Fires Creek Wildlife Management Area where you can camp, hike, fly fish, tube and/or picnic! The short drive to Super Walmart or Ingles (within 20-25 minutes) made it easy to grab the food or supplies we needed (forgot) upon arrival. Next, the cabin...2 years old, superb condition and beautifully furnished (even the wife was impressed!) The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare all meals and desserts and the grill out back was clean and ready to use upon arrival. Lastly, the owners...Gracious and responsive...Greeted us upon arrival to provide a tour of the place, called daily to provide the information on water releases into the Hiawassee and provided wonderful advice on restaurants, entertainment, fishing, etc in the area! Thanks again for sharing your beautiful getaway and taking the time to make our stay exceptional!!! We look forward to staying at your cabin again in the near future!!!

Beautiful Cabin

Spent a weekend at this beautiful cabin and loved it. Our plan was to do some fishing and we did, Liked the fact that the cabin was walking distance to Hiawassee River. Unforunately we didn't catch anything, I guess that means we'll have to come back again :)
Everything needed was available except a DVD player for movies we brought.
Great for couples and small families.
Thanks to Bill who waited for us to come in late Friday night.

Bill,
Just wanted to thank you and Claudia again for all the comfort and hospitality we felt when we rented your
beautiful cabin!
How beautifully decorated, in sync with the rustic surroundings. We felt at home, at peace, and had so
much fun exploring the surrounding area. Not limited to the wonderful local golf courses, the local restaurants,
and antique shops as well as our day trip to "look out mountain", and our walks to the river for some fishing and
sight seeing, we had so much to do and also could just relax on your porch and just read and listen to the river
flowing if we chose.
The accommodations were very comfortable, and I must say so quiet, we haven't slept that well since the trip
there. Thanks again, would recommend it to anyone looking for comfortable, homey accommodations, family friendly,
and in this day, very affordable!

Ernie and I love this part of North Carolina! We thoroughly enjoyed renting the lovely cabin in the summer of 2009 for a true get-away! The cabin features a front porch with a resident hummingbird that will make your acquaintance on a regular interval. As you sit there, you can look up at a beautiful mountain view and hear the rustling of the River! I took my laptop along and spent two or three hours each morning, writing on the porch. I couldn’t resist having breakfast out there each morning as well. The crisp clean air is just intoxicating.

You cannot go to this part of North Carolina without coming away refreshed. The interior of the cabin features a beautifully decorated get-away with a cozy fireplace, convenient kitchen and two warm and inviting bedrooms. Hayesville is a town that is wonderful as well. The little internet cafes were fun and talking with the people, even though they like to refer to us as ‘half-backs’ is very nice as well. There is a down-home charm like no place else.

I would really recommend this cabin if you are looking for a place to recharge your batteries and particularly escape some summer Florida scalding temperatures. You’ll be putting on a sweater in July and just enjoy the crisp clean air.

While in the area you can visit a variety of parks, do some antiquing, fishing, go kayaking, white water rafting and much more. Ernie and I were there over the 4th of July and enjoyed the local 4th activities including the peanut drop! That is another story but you’d love it—so much fun!
