2nd Arrondissement Bourse Studio Rental Photos and Description
Studio, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

Designer studio renovated in June 2011 with period parquet and beams in the heart of the 2nd arrondissement (Place des Victoires, Montorgueil, Bourse)

This 25m² studio will appeal to both lovers of old buildings and history as well as to all who seek comfort, modernity and design. You will live in a seventeenth century building, on the ground floor, raised above street level; just a few metres from the “Bourse de Paris” (Palais Broniard), between the Montorgueil district and the sublime Place des Victoires.

It is a very beautiful building; you pass through a large porch and enter the apartment being presented with the period stairwell. You enter directly into the large living room where everything has been designed for your comfort: entering on your right, there is a modern American style kitchen fully equipped with electric hotplates (USA: burners), oven and microwave, hood, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, kettle; and, as always in all our apartments, everything that you will need to cook and to try your hand at French cuisine.

You will fall instantly in love with this apartment, which has kept all its period charm with its beamed ceilings, exposed stone and its oak flooring.

For decoration, the choice of the furniture turned towards the design: the table and the two chairs were made by Philippe Starck, the famous French designer. The bookcase/wardrobe/couch/folding bed were designed by Italian designers; an all-in-one both functional and aesthetic. You do not have to unfold the couch, it is the bed which folds down to provide a comfortable true queen size bed for 2 people (160cm x 200cm). Flat screen TV with cable channels, internet Wifi connection and telephone (free calls to landlines in 120 countries including the USA) completes the package.

Finally, you enter the bathroom through a door with a small porthole: also very modern, it comprises a sink, Italian taps (USA: faucets) which have the unique design of changing the colour of the water according to its temperature, a beautiful shower with Italian glazing, a WC and an electric towel rail.

The apartment is designed for 1 or 2 persons.

THE DISTRICT

You are in the heart of Paris, close to everything, in a district full of charm. Less touristy than the others, the 2nd arrondissement is relatively unknown and yet it is full of a thousand and one truly enchanting corners.

We start with the Place des Victoires, with its architecture worthy of a play. All around the square you can find a host of trendy boutiques. From the square you can take the Rue Etienne Marcel, a benchmark for the most advanced of fashion lovers. And then you are in Montorgueil, one of our favourite spots for shopping (be sure to not miss the excellent confectioner Stohrer in Montorgeuil), stroll or enjoy a drink on a terrace. What attracts us to Montorgeuil? The district is pedestrian and the shops offer food products of a very high quality (baker, greengrocer, fishmonger, butcher, cheese seller ...). Montorgeuil is also the ideal sport for your Sunday brunch. Rue Montorgueil and the adjacent streets are full of little bistros which offer virtually everyone Sunday brunch.

There is a market twice a week in Rue Montmartre, just by the Rue Montorgueil, at the foot of the Eglise Saint-Eustache, where you will find everything especially fruits and vegetables in season, both fresh and delicious.

Now you are not far from Beaubourg, one of the most visited museums in Paris. Ephemeral exhibitions and contemporary art have the spotlight. And after a cultural session, enjoy a drink in the land of the Georges, perched at the top of Beaubourg.

Right next to the apartment, you can discover the arcades of Paris, including the Galerie Vivienne (with Les Caves Legrand, a cellar man well worth a visit, as well as A priori thé, one of the best tea rooms in Paris ... with its irresistible scones and brownies with white chocolate chips). But also the Galerie Vero-Dodat, with Mesdames, the Parisian address of Louboutin for luxury court shoes (USA: pumps).

Still in the district, the Palais-Royal, probably our favourite garden, is a gem hidden out of site, with its famous Buhren columns, fountains and flower beds so very colourful in spring. Gourmets will be irresistibly drawn to the Grand Véfour, one of the most popular Michelin three stars of Paris orchestrated by Guy Martin or to the restaurant of the Palais-Royal. Be sure to reserve on their terrace ...

Also note the Rue Sainte-Anne, which is simply the Japanese district of Paris. An address to write down for insiders: the Issé Workshop, which is probably the best Japanese grocery store (their selection of sake is amazing).

Remember that the offices of Rive Gauche Rive Droite are just nearby at 7 - 9 Rue Hérold. Please do not hesitate to come and take a coffee, you are always welcome ...

As you are right in the heart of Paris, it is very easy for you to go in any direction in the capital using bus, metro or Vélib (self service bike) to discover the Marais, Montmartre, Saint Germain des Prés or the Eiffel Tower.

My wife and I recently stayed at this wonderful apartment in Paris and we loved it very much. The apartment was clean, well stocked with our daily needs, and very cozy. We were about a block away from the Metro stop (we used the Metro extensively) and there were some great restaurants and cafes nearby. Less than a block away there's Au Panetier which is a great place for pastries and baguettes and next door to them is a good place for coffee. Several blocks away is the restaurant featured in the movie "Somethings Gotta Give" Le Grand Colbert. My wife and I loved the food, service and atmosphere there. When we come back we will definitely book this apartment again.

Amazing Apartment

My partner and I stayed in this apartment while we visited Paris for 8 days. Our experience was beyond expectations. We were greeted at the apartment doors and helped to get settled in. The apartment itself was beautiful yet simple containing everything one would need. It's a small size studio but perfect for 2 people. The location was great, a 10 min walk to the Louvre and 15 min walk to Les Halles. The nearest metro is literally 1.5 blocks away from the apartment doors. Quite street and great neighborhood if you want to explore the area. I left my macbook charger in the apartment and it was mailed to me here in the states. THANK YOU for everything Leonore, you were a pleasure to work with!!! I hope to work with you and your team again. My trip could not have been more amazing than it turned out to be.

Charming studio within walking distance to the Louvre and Pompidou

This studio is located on a quiet street within easy walking distance to the Louvre, the Pompidou, and the Opera. It is only a couple of blocks away from the Bourse Metro stop, so it is easy to take public transportation to places that are further away.

The owner and his staff were friendly, professional, and very easy to work with. They spoke excellent English and were responsive to our questions and requests both before and during our stay, including arranging for a taxi to take us to the train station when we checked out.

The studio is clean and has a nice, modern decor. The bed was quite comfortable: it folds up against the wall (like a murphy bed) and has a real mattress rather than being a lumpy futon or folding sofa bed. We appreciated the well-stocked kitchenette that had all of the dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware you need to cook and enjoy a meal in the studio. There is also a dishwasher and a clothes washing machine in the unit, which is a nice bonus, but be aware that there is no dryer, only a drying rack.

The bathroom has a relatively spacious shower with an adjustable-height shower head. Even better, it had plenty of hot water. We were able to take back-to-back showers without any issues, which has not always been our experience when traveling in Europe.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Our friends who live in Paris commented more than once on how nice it was compared to a typical hotel. Should we find ourselves in Paris again, we would not hesitate to return to this unit, or one of the owner’s other units.
