IDEAL LOCATION FOR ARTS LOVERS IN PRAGUE

While the rain in Prague was incessant during our stay in the apartment, knowing that we would be returning "home" to our apartment at the end of the day made it bearable! The two bedrooms and two baths were ideal for our group. Having a fully equipped kitchen meant that we could sit down to a simple breakfast, then plan our day's outing. The apartment is close to the National Theatre, to Narodni Street, and to the #22 Tram which goes up to Prague Castle. We walked everywhere we could --- if the attraction was too far away, we'd take one of the many trams which were close by. The U.K. supermarket, TESCO, is also close by --- we were able to get our food there, and could access miscellaneous items, too. This was a lovely apartment which suited us perfectly!

Perfect and well equipped

We were two ladies in our 60s along with our niece in her 40s. This apartment was perfect for us. I am a clean freak and this apartment met my standards. The location couldn't have been better; it was within walking distance to all the sights yet it was a peaceful and quiet neighborhood at night. The owner, John, was always quick to answer via email whenever I sent him a question. We cooked breakfast every morning and the kitchen was well stocked. We even found electrical adapters in the drawers; the ones we brought with us didn't work. I'm claustrophobic so can't use those tiny elevators. It's 56 steps up to the second floor and I never had a problem and I didn't gain any weight on this trip. It could be the new diet - Climb Stairs and Lose Weight.

We went to Mass right across the street and St. Vojtech's Church is a lovely sight out the windows. The Old Town with the Astrological Clock is a short walk as is everything else. We walked up to the Castle on the other side of the river.

There is a great restaurant a couple of blocks away - The Universal Restaurant - great fresh food and good prices. We went to a concert at the National Museum at Wenceslas Square and afterwards had a lovely meal at the Como Restaurant. It was raining so our waiter called a taxi for our trip back to the apartment.

The beds are extremely comfortable and I slept really well in Prague. This was our first stop on our Prague/Vienna/Budapest trip and it was a wonderful way to be welcomed to this part of Europe. I would recommend this apartment to young families with children (there was a baby crib and lots of toys and games), to two couples traveling together (two lovely bathrooms with great showers), and to older folks
who need a quiet place to relax after traipsing around Prague on cobblestones all day.

I don't understand why anyone would stay at a hotel when you can have so much more space and privacy in an apartment such as this one.

Excellent apartment to explore Prague!

My wife and I have stayed in Prague 5 times now and this apartment was our best experience. Very clean and well maintained as the photos reflect. Excellent location as it is close enough to major sites and metro stations, but far enough to escape the crowd noise at night. Certainly child-friendly (our kids are 6 and 3) but would be great for 2 couples as well. The apartment has all the right amenities and was a tremendous value overall.

We were able to walk 3 minutes to take in a show at the beautiful National Theater. We could not find a bad meal anywhere near the apartment (or in Prague for that matter). Highly recommend the apartment to virtually anyone who is visiting Prague.

I have been a guest of iTravex membership for years. In Paris France, Poipu Hawaii, Rome Italy, Beijing China, the West Coast and British Columbia, I have never stayed at a more agreeable, pleasant or perfect unit as John’s spacious apartment in Prague. My wife, son, his cousin and I were guests for 7 days to our great pleasure and enjoyment. We enjoyed the winter mornings running 4 miles to the old castle and to the Old Town Square on the frosty mornings, when few are awake and the trams trundle on by with yawning people going to work near the Christmas holiday Castles and clock towers. The apartment is so close to the sights that we could walk to the Castle Hill beyond Charles Bridge and spend the day walking back through Wenceslaus Square and Old Town Square enjoying the romantic 2am walk along the glimmering banks of the Dneiper River. There is excitement along with thoughtful cobblestone paths winding through Prague. The apartment is a part of it all. The full kitchen is large and gourmet equipped. The rooms and ceilings are spacious and grand, and the view of the Church and pedestrian cobblestone streets from the enormous windows is fascinating, we would sit with coffee and gaze out to the waking-town each morning.
This is the very best one can expect in apartment accommodations. Do not think twice - Prague awaits.

Great place to stay in Prague

VRBO Rental
My wife and I found this apartment in Prague to be an extremely nice place to stay. It is in a great location within Prague and was very safe, comfortable and clean. All of the amenities of home were available within the apartment. We have rented many VRBO units in Europe on separate trips and found this apartment to be one of the better, if not the best, we have rented.

Prague is a beautiful and historic city with much to visit and see. We were there for 8 days and barely got started in our site seeing before we had to depart for home.

Many good restaurants are nearby and in walking distance of the apartment. There are small mini markets within a short distance from the apartment having a number of food and drink items plus other essential commodities. A very large department and market (Tesco) is located about 500 meters walking distance on Narondi Street having everything that a large store would have in America.

The owner was very helpful and readily communicated via email. He promptly answered our questions before we left from America, while we were there and also made comforting arrangements for our timely departure from Prague. That is, we needed a taxi at 4:00 AM to be at the airport for a 7:00 AM departure from the Prague airport. The taxi was out front at the apartment by 4:00 AM.

We had a great stay in Prague and this VRBO rental far exceeded our expectations.

After staying for a few days in a drab hotel, our jaws dropped upon entering this excellent flat during our honeymoon in Prague. From the homey, comfortable furniture, to the large, beautiful kitchen, and the welcoming bottle of champagne waiting for us on the table, we felt very cherished here. The beds (all three of them) were extremely comfortable, and when we finally managed to leave our bed, we only had to walk a few steps to get to the heart of the old town, where we wanted to spend most of our time anyway. Everything we could have wanted/needed was there in the flat and it was all very clean and lovely, even better than the pictures portray. The next time we make it to Prague (hopefully soon), this flat will definitely be our first choice.

Owner's Response: Again, Congratulations! Thank you for the kind words about the apartment. It truly is the best location in Prague. I want to ship the mattresses back to the States as they are so comfortable!

Best wishes,

Wonderful stay

We (two adults & two teenage girls) recently returned from Prague where we stayed one week at John Grant's apartment. The apartment is very large and beautifully renovated. Everything is first class. It was clean and well provisioned. We were sad to leave because it had felt like home.

The location is great, on a quiet side street just a short block from the river. It was an easy walk to all the attractions (except the Prague Castle which was easily reached on the #22 streetcar).

John responded quickly to our questions and everything worked out well. We would strongly recommend this apartment to anyone coming to Prague.
Owner's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the apartment and location. Taking the #22 tram from the nearby National Theater up to Prague Castle and Cathedral and walking down to Mala Strana and the river is one of my favorite ways to spend the day in Prague.

Best regards,

John B Grant

The apartment offers all the conveniences that the present traveler requires:
great location within walking distance to main city sights and a number of good local restaurants and grocery stores. The apartment has two large bedrooms with comfortable beds and great bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a large living room with satellite TV and a dining area. All rooms are immaculate. The owner kept in touch frequently asking if we required anything. It was a personal touch which we greatly appreciated. All of this for a rental rate which was more than reasonable. Thank you John! We'll be back soon...

This would be 6 stars if I hadn't had so much trouble getting the owner to respond to me once I had booked the apartment. I sent him emails starting two weeks before we were to leave for Europe (four weeks prior to the occupancy date) as we would be in Europe with doubtful email for two weeks prior to Prague. He said his email wasn't working right when he finally got back to me after I called VRBO and within 20 minutes he emailed. He just blew me off for about two weeks when I was concerned about getting the information I needed before cruising down the Elbe. He has a message phone and didn't respond to that at all either after multiple messages. It's the only trouble I've ever had getting info from a VRBO owner but he doesn't live in CR.
That being said, a small revolution could occur outside his windows and you'd never hear it. Old world craftsmanship in a totally refurbished apartment--hardwood, heated floors, everything working, extremely clean, lovely apartment. Probably the finest apartment we've ever had and we rent apartments all over the world regularly as we like that style of travel. It's exactly as pictured--quiet, restful, modern elevator. He spent a fortune redoing this apartment--just check out the fit and finish on the double windows. The apartment is exquisite throughout, including original art. It was worth all the hassle getting the information, but it shouldn't be that tough. Took away from the enjoyment of the apartment for me and I'm a low maintenance guy.

Owner's Response: I did have Email issues when this traveler attempted to ask additional questions weeks before his arrival. He never left a message on my phone. As soon as VRBO/HomeAway contacted me I called and emailed him right away as he stated.

We truly enjoyed staying at this spacious, clean apartment that was quite close to the tram and many sights. Apartment had everything we needed except closets! John gave us excellent directions and info and was very available if we had a question. Free wi-fi worked perfectly. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend the apartment to others for a peaceful yet convenient place in Prague.
