When we walked through the door the decor immediately reminded me of our trips to Key West. The days we spent here, however, we the exact opposite. The weather was mild and the breezes were plentiful. We found ourselves spending most of our time on the screened porch enjoying the ocean view. Thank you, Joy, for sharing your special place with us. It was clean, comfortable and all we had to bring was our clothing, food and shower bag for a wonderful time.
The listing description and photos were accurate. The owner was helpful in answering our questions and concerns. I would recommend this property to my friends and relatives. Because we have stayed at Hunting Island for years, we knew that the nearest grocery store was miles away and we stopped at one on the way. The open air market near the island entrance was convenient for a few last minute items. We will definitely be back!

I have used VRBO for many years now, but Joy is BY FAR the best owner I have EVER dealt with. She went above and beyond to make my 8 days in her condo one of the best vacations I've had in a long time. My well behaved dog Charley and I walked and walked and walked the area, discovering egrets and osprey nesting, an alligator with her 5 new babies, AND wonderful people who all loved dogs! When we returned to our own "nest", the screened porch was a peaceful spot to reflect, watch sunrises, read and simply listen to nature. On Monday night, I enjoyed DELICIOUS crab-legs at Boondocks. Johnson Tavern nearby has picnic tables outside overlooking the marsh where dogs are welcomed. Hunter's Island is a natural paradise to explore, with a great beach and lighthouse. My
intention was to relax, and that I did! THANK YOU JOY for making my stay such a pleasant one.

Our third visit to Harbor Island was made even more memorable by spending our week in Birds I Vue. The owner has created a seaside sanctuary in this "villa with a view." The owner's flair for using select antiques and artwork has resulted in a decor that blends Victorian, Key West, and tropical elements in a most comfortable and relaxed setting. Comfort and style are evident in her selection of living room furniture. Where some villas offer an uncomfortable futon, A beautiful overstuffed sleep sofa anchors the living room, where one can curl up with a book and also enjoy the ocean view. Two cushy recliners provide additional comfortable seating, where other villas often offer just a club chair. The lovely screened porch beckons visitors to enjoy early morning coffee while watching the sunrise over the ocean and to return for a glass of wine to catch the cool evening breezes. Instead of uncomfortable bar chairs, the owner has created a cozy sitting area with 2 cushioned wicker chairs and tables. With an owner who obviously enjoys cooking and entertaining, Birds I Vue is well-stocked with hostess accessories and cooking ware. With all these amenities, pet-friendly Birds I Vue is still the perfect villa for your dog...with no carpet to worry about and a screened porch to enjoy with the family. A king bed, 2 bathrooms, beach chairs and towels, and generous starter supplies of necessities, the owner has thought of everything to serve the comfort of her guests. An extra key is also available, which some villas do not offer...a great convenience for guests. Birds I Vue was indeed the perfect villa for our week in Paradise! We hope to return!

From the reservation process all the way through check-out and the trip home, this stay was amazing. Every detail is accounted for in this lovely condo. The living area is very cozy. The kitchen is very clean and the dishes and pots and pans are very nice as well. We frequently rent homes / condos for vacations and usually the linens, the dishes and the cookery leaves much to be desired. Not the case here! Everything was wonderful and felt like home. We enjoyed sitting on the lanai in the evening listening to the waves and loved walking on the beach every morning for the sunrise. My husband, our daughter and our mini dachshund thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The beach is amazing and at any given time of day, there were maybe 10 people TOPs out on the sand. The sea turtles are nesting right now so we had the pleasure of seeing actual nests that had been roped off and were being monitored by patrol. We took a low low tide "mud walk" and were able to see many living creatures in their low tide habitats. We saw horseshoe crabs in their holes, sand dollars skittering barely beneath the mud, welks with hermit crabs, little fish and ghost shrimp and the dolphins! OH MY GOODNESS! We were standing out watching the tide come in and in come the dolphins literally 30 yds away from us frolicking and chasing fish. Harbor Island is so very quiet, non-commercialized and amazing. We also took a bike ride over to Hunting Island where we climbed the light house and spent some time on the beach. If you are looking for more active water, then Hunting Island is for you. I personally preferred the gentle waves and shallow water of the Harbor Island beach. A previous reviewer mentioned that there are no stores / restaurants once you get there - she is right. There are quite a few grocery stores on Hwy 21 South coming through Beaufort and there is a Dollar General and Family Dollar on St Helena not too far from the bridge over onto Harbor / Hunting Island. There is a pizza place outside of the gates to HI and a little mainland market where you can get fresh catch of the day shrimp and blue crab along with locally grown seasonal fruits and vegetables.But if you are looking for staples, mainstays, etc, make sure you pick them up on the way in! All in all, we had a wonderful stay and are looking forward to our next trip - where we will choose Birds I Vue again! Our family had a wonderful time at Bird's I Vue. It was close to the beach and the pool. The atmosphere was what I needed to relax.

My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary on Harbor Island and we were so glad we chose to stay in your lovely condo. Our every need was met. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The beach was never crowded and in fact, we had it to ourselves with every sunrise and sunset walk we took. It's convenience to Hunting Island State Park was a major plus to us and we enjoyed kayaking there. The grounds are so lovely and everyone we met so friendly. We definitely want to return! Our fifteen year old dog, Roger, enjoyed the stay as well . Joy, thank you for being so gracious and sharing your home with us.

My daughter and I felt right at home in this wonderful condo - we could even see the sunrise right off the porch deck!

Everything was well taken care of, clean and well equipped - the photos and description are accurate, but this place was even better in person - I highly recommend this property.

Only had 3 days, but it was wonderful. Great place to walk, lots of nature watching, and relaxing!! The condo was very comfortable and we could bring our furry friend, Charlie.
