Owner's Response: It's unfortunate that any person can make a bogus review without having made any complaint to the owner or property manager. I had repeat customers on either side spending weeks prior to and after this 4 night stay who had nothing but good things to say. The rate given is $400 below the going rate thru the property manager vs VRBO, so if there is lower rate it is not for this complex. This complex has one of the best reputations in Kona as having beautiful grounds that are meticulously maintained. The furnishings are not from the 70's and are routinely replaced. The bed is only a few years old and the 2k sofa sleeper is less than a year old. The property manager received no notice of the sliding door needing lubricant/cleaning of salt air, or any other complaint. Nor did the people right before and right after ( it was back to back rentals) have any issue. Providing beach equipment and bogi boards, snorkels etc is an extra bonus. This is the first complaint I had about the bed which is not old but might have not been the same as what they were used to. I will replace it if it's as bad as they said, especially considering I'll be spending several weeks there. The plastic chairs are for the outside patio table, not the inside dining table and are subject to the salty humid climate, hense plastic holds up the best for patio furniture. I will be there next month to check and make any replacements. I rely on the property manager and comments made to the property manager or me from clients when I am not there. We have never received any negative comments or complaints in the last 11 years of rentals. The property manager is available 24x7 on their emergency number and both the owner and manager received no calls or comments from this client prior to this post.
