Beautiful place, but not the house...

We were at seabreeze point in February 2012. Just arrived we entered the apartment on the ground floor and found quite a dead rat on the floor. We climb to the first floor where there are our rooms. The house was dirty and smelled stuffy, the kitchen was in poor condition totally encrusted with limescale, dirty dishes, shower was completely encrusted with limescale, the water that came out was brown and smelled of sewage, the rooms were small and thin. The interior walls did not reach the ceiling as a result there was no privacy (we were two couples ...). There is no tv no internet connection there. We had to clean everything and only thanks to the kindness of neighbors (Mike & Angie) after three days we had clean water. Pretty much the house was closed from December 2011!
Too bad because the house would have cared if it was beautiful.
Excuse my English, I used Google.
Owner's Response: Hmmm, this is interesting. I have received this response 6 months after the guests’ vacation! But nothing had been communicated to me in the meantime. The people referred to as (Mick & Angie), whom complimentary remarks have been made, are the same people who look after, clean and prepare the house prior to guests arriving. Therefore we find it is rather surprising and difficult to believe, that a dead rat was there to greet the guests upon arrival. Having not been there in person upon their arrival, and no previous complaints of the house being 'dirty' as Mick & Angie clean the house prior to any rental, would suggest questioning the expectation and definition of cleanliness. The thickness of the walls and the design of the interior, upper level, walls not reaching the ceiling (because of the building design) are remarks that I find difficult to comprehend as an issue, because the whole house was available and one couple could use the downstairs bedroom, (3 double bedrooms in total) to ensure 'increased privacy' for both couples. The water supplied to the house is from a well that is cut from lime stone, and yes we do get lime scale deposits building up, but these are treated regularly, therefore the remark 'encrusted' in my view is an exaggeration. The smell that has been referred to is the smell of the very low level of sulphur (from the well water), and once the water has been running through taps and toilet used for a very short period upon initial use/arrival, it dissipates quickly, as the well water is supplemented with rainwater captured from the rain harvester. However, the point is noted and the on-going challenge of keeping a home in the tropics continues with joy and a smile. I am very glad that they found the location, place, and house beautiful, as everyone does, and that issues referred to about cleanliness are noted. However, It is a shame that the guest did not contact me directly to discuss this, opposed to posting their review 6 months after their vacation.
