I've been a summer guest on Martha's Vineyard for many years and find that this is a time of particular abundance on the island. I am a writer, an artist and an activist on behalf of children, adolescents and families. In my spare time, I love to explore new places, cook with fresh ingredients, and stay in touch with friends and family. I live in Boston.
My husband and I chose this property because of its location on the western tip of the island, which is just where we wanted to spend our vacation time. The previous owner was the designer of the house and she had an eye for layout and design; we appreciated and continue to appreciate her sensibilities.
The house is cozy and spacious at the same time; it offers a tranquil wooded setting and also provides water views to the Sound and the Elizabeth Islands. The kitchen is well laid out, easy to use and open to the dining/living area. We've prepare elegant multi-course dinners and simple, basic dinners using the fresh ingredients found all around on the island. The house offers access to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and the sunsets from the roof deck remind a person that everything in the world, no matter what, is somehow okay.
