Welcome to La Malagueña, a getaway that will enthrall your senses and nurture your spirit.
Our place is ideal for the seasoned traveler who prefers the comforts of home combined with the uniqueness of a true Mexican experience.
Our home was originally built in the 18th century and has been remodeled several times, the last time by the renowned Mexican artist, Juan Ibañez. Its construction is of stone and pine with copper accents. It takes advantage of the Mexican sun and sky and its position on the most beautiful square in Guanajuato - with French doors opening onto the fountain below and a wonderful rooftop garden in which you can sit and while away the time, above it all.
The house is in the heart of town so you can comfortably walk to almost any place you'd like to visit. We are a few steps away from the Basilica, Teatro Juarez, and the most important sites.
You'll not only enjoy the comfort, style and location of our place but also the hospitality of our staff. BIEN
A few steps from the Jardin Union, the Teatro Juarez & the Teatro Principal, the University of Guanajuato, the Basilica, the Mercado Hidalgo, the Alhondiga and most museums, language schools, restaurants, cafes, and bars.
Since our place in a plaza downtown, you don't have to climb steep narrow streets or 'callejones'.
My husband and I lived in Guanajuato for many years and loved living there, however, due to the nature of our professions we had to relocate. We come back to Guanajuato every chance we get but when we are not there we like to share our place with visiting travelers.
Since we both love to travel, we try to provide our guests with the same standards of excellence that we expect when we travel.
Guanajuato is truly a magical city. It has it all: a relaxing atmosphere, slow pace life style, lots of character and charm, friendly people, and a vast cultural life. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988 and National Geographic has featured it several times in its magazine. Guanajuato is also home of internationally renowned Cervantino Festival and the Guanajuato International Film Festival (Expresion en Corto).
