George and I met twenty years ago in college and for us it was love at first site. We married four years later and have been blessed with two boys; Josh and Jake. We both have careers in education and are fortunate to work in the same city in which we live. George is a high school photo teacher and I am a middle school counselor. This coming Fall, our boys are entering High School and Middle School. We love to travel during the summer and usually try to spend a week in Palm Springs and Monterey. For our family, it is important to stay in a place that has a 'good feel' to it. You can get a vibe from the first moment you step foot in a vacation room whether or not it is going to be a good place to stay. Our kids are truly invested in the vacation process and help us choose our place to stay by researching with us and looking at pictures online. We are a tight knit family that spends a lot of time together. We typically spend our evenings watching TV, or playing games. We wanted to be able to create that same kind of environment for your family at our vacation home in Anaheim. Together, as a family, we designed the layout from the simple details, to the most dramatic. Our boys were a fantastic resource when it came to the proper games to buy, video equipment to purchase and what electronic games we needed for the game room. We consider ourselves a 'Classic' family with traditional values and expectations. Classic Comfort is what we live for and what we guarantee for your family when you stay in our Anaheim home. We live a short distance away and spend a lot of time at Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm. We are very familiar with the area of Anaheim and based on our experiences, have created a book of things to do. complete with driving directions, maps, menus, pictures. personal stories and contact information for you to use! It is a great resource and will hopefully help you create memories to last a lifetime!
My husband was the one to find our house in Anaheim. We live in a Ranch House ourselves and love its classic feel. George was looking for a specific style of ranch home and found it in Anaheim! The architect of our home is Cliff May; 'The Father of Ranch Homes.' He is famous for designing homes that envelope these character-defining features: clerestory windows that allow the outside light to filter in, low-pitched roofs, windows grouped at the corners, which allows for a closer relationship between outdoors and in,and a more intimate association with the garden and pool. In essence, an informal, 'Classic' relaxed, way of living. Cliff May thought beyond style when he designed. He built for the seclusion and comfort of the family that would live in the home, which is what you desire when you are staying in a vacation home. .Our home has an open floor plan which allows guests to view the pool from almost every room of the house. There are also numerous fruit trees on the property (orange, lemon and lime) to enjoy. Our ranch house carries forward the essential traits and desirable features and enriches the whole with new concepts of lighting and circulation. Our patio is the key feature of our ranch home. It is here that the pleasures of indoor and outdoor living can be enjoyed. As you can see from our pictures, the patio wraps around the pool and off to the side is a game room complete with a pool table, foosball table, video game station, XBOX with endless games and a comfortable couch and chair to relax on. The floor to ceiling windows throughout the house, give each room a fresh, feeling of openness. Our home in Anaheim has the unmistakable air of gracious livability as does our ranch home where we live. The living room, dining room and all of the bedrooms are bathed in natural light, from the glass windows on all sides. We know you will love our classic home based on its skillful blending of contemporary features and modern appeal!
There are so many benefits right in our own backyard that will make your stay with us an unforgettable one. We are minutes away from Disneyland, California Adventure, Downtown Disney, Discovery Science Center, Bowers Children Museum, Anaheim Convention Center, Angel Stadium, Knott's Berry Farm & Knott's Soak City. Living close to the amusement parks allows you the luxury of leaving the park with a hand stamp, going home for lunch and a quick nap, and returning to the park ready for action!
Other than the fact that we love the city of Anaheim and think Ranch Homes are amazing, there are a few other benefits to staying in our vacation home. We are about 1.5-2.0 hours from San Diego where you have SeaWorld, The San Diego Zoo and LegoLand. If you travel in the opposite direction, you can visit the Santa Monica Beach Pier and have a nice lunch and do some souvenir shopping.
