Beautiful private cottage steps away from Kaanapali action
Just returned from 12 nights at this cottage with my husband, 2 small kids (2 and 5) and my parents. Terry was very gracious to accomodate all of us and the kids slept with us in the king bed.
In addition, Terry was quite responsive and helpful prior to our trip; he answered a multitude of questions quickly even though I worried I was bugging him.
Our flight was delayed 5 hours so we arrived after midnight- so nice to walk into a beautiful property without dealing with checking in, etc. All was as promised at the cottage- looks just like the pictures. The kitchen has just about everything you could want, even spices and basic staples, and ice packs! so we were easily able to make meals. There is a closet with snorkeling gear that we borrowed, tons of beach towels, even beach chairs and umbrella. There are also a couple of air pumps if you need to inflate beach toys. There's no AC, but the ceiling fans were just fine, and there's a lovely afternoon breeze. You can see the ocean from the dining room table!
The cottage is well laid out and very spacious- plenty of room for all of is. There are two sitting areas, and my kids took over one of them to play. The kitchen is huge and the adults could easily be in there together to prepare meals.
The cottage is stocked with tons of bath towels and extra supplies.
The pool is literally steps from the cottage- t was very quiet and we nearly always had the pool to ourselves. As a result, my kids used it nearly every day, probably much more than if we were at a hotel and had to go through corridors and elevators and compete for beach towels. The pool itself has clean bathrooms and a closet with pool noodles.
The second bedroom has two twin beds; Terry doesn't mind if you push them together, but they don't fit tightly due to the bed frame, so we left them as is for my parents.
The cottage is right behind the Westin Ocean Villas, so you are really close to everything. It's an easy walk 5-10 min to a gorgeous beach (Kahekili Beach Park); we actually drove because of all the beach stuff- there's a free parking lot, too. It's a 2 minute drive (or 40 minute walk) to Whaler's Village, and only 10-15 minutes to Lahaina. We also spent time in Kapalua, which is about 10 minute north. I thought the location was fantastic.
Look forward to returning!
