Awesome family get- away

Our family recently stayed in this log cabin home after Christmas. It was the perfect get-away from busy working lives in cities (Boston & Chicago). We were able to catch up around the fire place, relax in the hot tub, & take advangtage of the owner's club. The house is spacious, cozy, clean, & the owner Dan is wonderful to work with. Location is a few minutes ride to downtown where we found Galena Brewery, Wild Clover Aveda Spa, & plenty of cute shops. We definitely want to go back! :)

Perfect for us!

We are family of seven, and we wanted to take our kids to Chestnut Mountain to learn to ski/snowboard. We stayed at the house and it was perfect for us - we have 4 boys and one girl, ranging in age from 13-6. The house was well equipped, and was done so in such a practical way that I didn't have to worry about them ruining anything. Most of the floors are tile, no knick knacks, sturdy furniture. The only issue that we had was that we wanted to cook dinner at the house one night, and ended up improvising with various pots and pans because there weren't enough large pots to make a pasta dinner for seven, and there wasn't a bowl large enough for a big salad. We muddled through!
It was about 25 minutes to Chestnut Mountain, which without turn by turn GPS got a little tricky in the dark (Eagle Ridge didn't have many streetlights).
The owner was very responsive to questions, and it was very clean and well-kept.
We would definitely go back!

Thanksgiving family time

Invited my kids, grand kids, sister and her family to celebrate the holiday, making food and memories. Ironwood pictures and description are very accurate; Dan was lovely to work with; the location is superb. Kids used Owners facility for swimming and basketball. Everything was provided, though we brought some cooking equipment since we were preparing the traditional feast. Everything was clean, well maintained, especially the hot tub. I would highly recommend this lovely home for such a get-together, where you can all be connected, or find separate space to play pool, arcade, study for exams, bake snicker doodles, read or hike in the woods.

Loved the cabin. Set up very well for a "girls getaway" with two moms (ages 87 and 89). The master bedroom is handicapped accessible which we needed. The other bedrooms great too. Close to downtown Galena. Pictures matched what we experienced. Hope to go back next year with our moms or perhaps with our daughters.

Super clean house - great area to vacation

We recently rented this home and we were 100% satisfied. The owner was so easy to work with. His house was so clean and EVERYTHING worked. There was not even a burnt out light bulb anywhere in the home. We enjoyed the covered front porch, and many trips to the owners club to swim in the outdoor pool.

Another Family Reunion

We just had our second family reunion here. It was perfect again! Dan, the owner keeps this house in the best shape and is very easy to work with. He built a concrete patio in the back for grilling, which we took advantage of. We hope to be back next year for a third year in a row!! Thank you Dan.

1st Annual Family Trip

I want to start by saying thank you Dan for renting out your wonderful home. The home is so inviting for both the outdoor and not so outdoor type like me, I was a bit worried at first. The house was perfect for all our needs, Dan has everything we could ever need on vacation and nothing was questionable even down to the beach towels. I cant stress how accommodating the home was and we had a large group of 12 from the ages of 2-37 yrs it was a three family trip. Thanks Dan for making our first trip to Galena a annual trip, see you next year.

OUR FAMILY GOES ON A MINI-GET-AWAY EACH SUMMER, AND THIS YEAR IT WAS AT GALENA. DAN'S HOME WAS BEAUTIFUL-CLEAN AND THE SPACE WAS JUST RIGHT FOR OUR FAMILY OF 13. THE KIDS LOVES THE OWNERS CLUB, SWIMMING, TENNIS,AND INDOOR BASKETBALL AND THE FISHING WAS SOME OF THE BEST AROUND. WE ALSO ENJOYED THE OUTDOOR 6 PERSON HOTTUB. IF YOU WANT TO GET AWAY AND HAVE SOME PEACE AND QUIET THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!!! JUST HAVE A SEAT IN THE BACK AREA, HAVE THE GRILL GOING AND ENJOY SOME GALENA WINE!!! THANKS DAN AND I HOPE YOU'LL HAVE US BACK! THIS TOPS OUR OTHER PLACE WHERE WE HAD GONE TO FOR THE PASS 7 YEARS---DON'T KNOW WHAT TOOK US SO LONG TO FIND YOU!

Amazing!!!

We had a couples getaway weekend and stayed at this house and it was absolutely amazing! The house was perfect and looked just liked the pictures. Everything was very clean and the owner was very nice and helpful. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.
