This updated Romantic Urban Cabin is centrally located, yet off the beaten track. The fully equipped kitchen has granite counters, newish appliances, maple cabinets and recessed lighting. The fireplace is a porcelain gas stove, no muss with fire-building, just flip the switch for instant warmth and atmosphere. All flooring replaced, fresh paint, new carpet, drapes - all very clean. Comfy, knotty-pine living room with dimmed lighting throughout creates a warm ambiance. The wrap-around porch with it's Adirondack chairs gives a very Ralph Lauren feeling. Adjacent to acres of open space; it is great for hikes, long walks and romping with kids and dogs.
An entry through convenient mudroom with washer and dryer is place to stash ski equipment, boots and wet gear.
Pets are considered and smoking is allowed outside on the covered porch only.
We came from the mid-west as college students for a summer job. Kathy and I have been friends since we met as black jack dealers at Sahara Tahoe in the early 1970's; it was a summer vacation that lasted for more than a decade! Eventually our lives went in various directions but our hearts and souls have been embedded in Lake Tahoe since that first summer. Kathy is now a casino manager in Reno and I have a career in real estate in the Bay Area - town of Los Gatos.
Tahoe in the 70's was deliciously decadent; the result of sharing that experience created life-long friendships for about 20 of us 'girls.' Though few of us remained at the Lake after 1980, we return almost every summer for our annual 'Reunion;' next year will be the 30th anniversary of those reunions. We rent a big, comfortable house either on the Lake or with a fabulous view of the Lake and spend 4-5 days reminiscing or trying to re-create those crazy times. And we have a blast! As our reunion group gets smaller, we spend most of our vacation reunions in our cabin.
We love being off the beaten track, yet right in the center of S. Lake Tahoe. All the open space behind the cabin makes us feel like we are in the woods, it's great to hike along Trout Creek enjoying the huge meadows that are all around the cabin.
