Value for money, great staff, allow extra bus time
We stayed in this appartment for 10 nights. Biggest motivation was the modest price per night, especially when compared to the bulk of hotels on cable beach and paradise island with their loads of hidden fees and extra taxes. In hindsight, we are seriously glad we did. This appartment is rather spacious and conveniently equipped with all one could ask for. We even found two bottles of Wodka waiting for us in the living room on arrival; talking of generocity!
The biggest plus however is not the appartment, but the staff. Duran (owner) and Brigitte (reservation agent) are continously available to you on a literal 24-7 basis. They are one (free) phone call away and super responsive. As part of the proactive attitude to make sure guests enjoy themselves, they provide a list of paid and free services. We made use of the (paid) taxi service and had a driver holding our nameplate in the airport, the (paid) shopping sevice and therefore had some groceries and cold beers waiting for us upon arrival and finally Brigitte booked all our tours/excursions based on what we asked for and without any extra charges. Duran, Brigitte, thanks for your continous support, availability and inquiries, we appreciated this a lot!
Be aware that this appartment is on the Eastern side of the island and somewhat further away from all highlights. If you don't plan on renting a car, like ourselves, expect extra bus time. Although there is a bus stop right in front of the gate, unfortunately the Jitney does NOT (anymore) travel northbound on Village road. This means that you will have to walk 5 minutes down to Wulff road where Jitneys are frequently passing by, like every 5 minutes or so. Expect to sit on the bus for 30 minutes down-town, 40 minutes to the bridges connecting to Paradise Island, 50 minutes to Junkanoo Beach or fish fry and 60 minutes to Cable Beach. These travel times are averages based on our 10-day experience, the real travel times highly depend on traffic. On the way back to your appartment, travel time is significantly reduced, as Jitneys 11 and 19 do travel soutbound on Village Road. But be aware, that bus service runs until 6.30pm, later transportation requires a taxi. Although travelling may take some extra time from this accomodation, we actually enjoyed it, as its pace is perfectly in line with the laid-back vibe on the island and a nice way to meet local Bahamians!
In conclusion, Tangerine Sunsets is value for money, has great staff, allow extra bus time.
Owner's Response: RVD, thanks for the great review and for providing future guests with useful information on their travel. Thanks as well for being such splendid and communicative guests. I'm glad you had a great time and took advantage of everything the island has to offer. Our welcome mat will always be available the next time you world explorers decide to drop by ;)
