Accurate description, good value, great location
The photos and description are spot-on. The unit is very clean and well maintained, with excellent bedding and electronics (they only provide two beach towels, though). The kitchen is minimally but adequately equipped. The bathroom is on the small side, but conveniently has doors both to the bedroom and to the living area.
The view is exactly as shown in photos, though if you look down the view is of a parking lot, and the street lights are quite bright at night. The building is charmless but well maintained, and the location cannot be beat: just south of the craziness of Fifth, but convenient to all. The beach is wide and was never crowded, and at least while we were there, the surf was shallow for yards out, so it was really safe for swimming and would be great for kids. You can exit the building via the pool deck at the back, and it's a 1-minute walk via the public path right onto the beach.
Very quiet, we never heard any neighbors (or saw them on the other balconies, which was odd). The unit is on the outside and second-to-top floor, which may be why (also the concrete construction). Our only quibble: the blinds in the bedroom were translucent not room darkening, and the building faces east, so it got bright (and hot) early in the morning. We noted this to Sky City, so maybe they will change the blinds?
The Sky City team was very responsive, and met us at the building as soon as we arrived. We rented the parking space, which was handy, though SoFi is walkable, and taxis are plentiful and reasonable (and there's a DecoBike station two blocks south).
Overall, a great option in SoFi!
