This Charming Hillside Cottage is nestled on a hillside, up a rustic 1/4 mile drive from a quiet neighborhood, that winds through an oak grove leading to our little paradise. We are surrounded by oaks and kentia palms, with spectacular mountain and city views. This guest cottage is private, and detached from our family home. We are 5 minutes from the beach and 5 minutes from downtown.
The cozy bedroom has french windows that look out into a garden area, a king bed, Ethan Allen desk, and a soft comfy chair.
The spacious sitting room converts to sleep 4, with a full sized loft bed, and a full, very comfy futon/sofa. The loft bed has a beautiful mountain view.
The redwood deck overlooks the hillside, and has a lovely eating area, a bbq, and a private hot tub.
Though we are in a very private setting, we are conveniently located in the city - a secret little pocket that overlooks Santa Barbara - and only a short drive to the beach and to downtown shopping.

We bought our home 23 years ago, with this guest cottage, but have never rented it out before. Now, that I've become a single mom with only one teenage daughter remaining at home, I decided to beautify it, bought new furniture, new carpet, painted it, and it's gorgeous! I'm looking forward to meeting you, and have you as our 'guests' for as long as you'd like to stay. We're animal lovers, and have 2 rescue dogs, 4 rescue cats, and 16 chickens in the backyard. Don't worry, no roosters! Your well behaved pets are welcome, too. When I'm not fixing up the guest house, I make unique art tallits. You may have to look that one up.
The quarter mile driveway down to the street is a wonderful morning or evening walk. But it is wooded, so at night we do have occasional visitors - mostly raccoons and skunks - so drive slowly. For anyone needing public transportation, the bus stop is 2 blocks away, and takes 10 minutes to get to the downtown transit center. The Wednesday afternoon farmer's market is 2 blocks away, and the Sat. morning farmer's market is in town - not far. State St., the main drag with tons of restaurants, shopping and the Museum of Art, is only a 5 minute drive from us. The Pier and the Harbor, with the Ty Warner Sea Center is 5 farther, and the wonderful S.B. Zoo, is only 5 minutes farther than that. Tennis courts are only 5 minutes away, in Ehlings Park, and one of the most beautiful walks in S.B., with an off-leash policy for your dog, is the Douglas Family Preserve, and only 5 minutes away, overlooking Hendry's beach.
