This place was fabulous. I do not have one compliant (and for me that is saying a lot).
Where do I start? First the owners are simply amazing, very accommodating, and professional. I can tell you that from the time I made the reservations to the day we arrived, Steve did everything he could to ensure that we had a good time. He spent a lot of time on the phone with me recommending places to dine, activities for our children, and when I mentioned that I was going to have to ship a bike down for my 8 year old to ride, he insisted on purchasing one.
The house was amazing, beautifully decorated, modern amenities, and top of the line appliances. You can tell that there was a lot of thought put into every detail. The house has everything that you have at home, and more. We had several days of bad weather, but because of all the extras (ping pong table, foosball ball, fishing equipment, and kayaks) we still had a great time despite the bad weather.
We highly recommend the house, the owners and the island. Thank you for providing us with a vacation to remember. We will definitely be back..

Excellent House on a quieter key

This place was perfect for our family of 5. Everything in the house is top quality, clean, very comfortable with plenty of space. The screened in porch was a lovely place to eat our dinners in the evening. The amenities that come with the house - kayaks, bikes, a bait freezer, Bahia Honda beach pass, a Kinect (my son was thrilled!) - are such a bonus (not to mention a money saver). The house is right at the end of a canal - we had a boat docked there for a week and it took us just minutes to get to the beautiful, clear ocean!
The location of the house is ideal - very peaceful and quiet, but close to a major grocery store, a fantastic beach (at Bahia Honda state park), a great little pub with excellent pizza, and the Key deer nature reserve. It's also just about 40 minutes from Key West if you are looking for more action.
The owner is extremely helpful, friendly, prompt in answering questions, etc., and Captain Ron (who checked us in) was too. He gave us some fantastic recommendations for good local restaurants that did not disappoint!!
I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in the Keys!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind words. I am very happy that you and your family had a good time. We know it is important that when you travel away from your home to vacation that you have all the important things you need to make if "feel" like home away from home. I hope your travels back home were safe and thank you again for your very nice comments.

Everything and More!

Our romantic getaway began after Thanksgiving and the weather was beautiful. Upon entering the home we were thrilled with all the amenities, granite countertops, beachy decor, and covered outdoor porch overlooking the bay. Our first day trip was to Bahia Honda State Park Beach. The turquoise water was tranquil as we relaxed under a swaying palm tree on the white sandy beach. We made a trip to the local Winn Dixie grocery store to stock the fridge and fill a small cooler for day trips. E next day was a trip to the Dolphin Research Center which is a non profit org. The proceeds take care of the beautiful seals and dolphins. We chose to swim with the dolphins $185 each and $50 for all the pictures taken of me and my fiancé. Very worthwhile and memorable. We then enjoyed a day trip to Key West to enjoy music, shopping and the sunset. Our tip: try the restaurant Turtle Kraal at Happy Hour. All drinks and some great appetizers all half price. Four drinks (Try the Turtle punch cocktail) including meal - bucket of the most tender pork ribs and nachos. $29!!!

We loved taking the beach cruisers out and about. On our rides we saw many key deer, turtles, Iguanas and native birds. Great photo ops!

Our only regret is that we didn't use the Kayaks and the awesome game room.

Nights we enjoyed lounging watching movies. The home was immaculate, modern and very comfortable.
We look forward to coming again.

Our vacation was a blast inspite of the not so perfect weather.
The home was very clean with lots of room.
If you want a home that has everything and I do mean EVERTYTHING this is the place to go.
The pictures on the site are only a small peek of everything it has to offer.
We all had fun and did not want to leave - not even my dog.
Would love to stay again in the future.

Really AWEsome!

On the property itself: is like a mini-resort - it's beautifully finished & very well-maintained. Belmonte Bay is *perfectly* situated for a family looking for a get-away with all the comforts of home, yet instant access to back-country for diving, fishing, wildlife watching, ...and amazing star-gazing - it's really dark! Seeing the Milky Way and the lightning bugs was a real treat. We're so used to suburban light pollution, we had forgotten what they looked like - next time, we'll bring the telescope. The owner is very responsive, and if you don't know the Keys, they provide tons of info on what to do & where to go. This place is such a treasure, it's tempting to avoid recommending it so we can keep it for ourselves (!) but truly - we can recommend this property without hesitation.
On the area/location: Having visited the Keys often, we knew exactly what we wanted & where we wanted to be - Doctor's Arm is perfect for quick bay & ocean access, and it's such a piece of cake to dock the boat right in the backyard. It's at the end of a canal, though, so it would be tight to get a boat bigger than 21-22 feet in there. The other reviews cover the amenities, restaurants, and tourist activities well, so I won't repeat them here. We also liked The Wharf, on Summerland Key - great beer selection, excellent fresh snapper & hogfish; at dusk, eat inside or bring bug spray ;)
One thing to note: we hit the end of mini-season, and as a result, it was a little challenging to rent dive gear on short notice - a LOT of stuff was already out & hadn't come back yet. Still, we did get fixed up at Underseas, and they seem to have the largest selection.

My family has been vacationing in the KEYS for the past 15 years. I can not say enough GREAT things about the Belmonte house. The house and furnishings are so warm and beautiful. If you like to cook, the kitchen is decked out with all the latest bells and whistles! If you want to eat out, NO NAME PUB ( a must) and many other great places to dine are close by. The oversized, stone showers made you feel like you were in a 5 star Hotel. I have three kids, We played many ping pong matches, rode the bikes and enjoyed kayaking. The WiFi is a hit for kids and adults. A short ride in the boat and you are in the open water. We snorkled at Looe Key, which I highly recommend. It is like an underwater aquarium. We had a great time and made many memories!Such a lovely home, again Thank you so much for sharing!

Fantastic House, Fantastic Owners and Great Location

First off, the Owners are great people who responded quickly and efficiently with any questions or concerns we had. The home is in outstanding condition and is very well equipped. Bikes, kayaks, ping-pong, fishing gear, proximity to the No Name Pub and several nature trails and the Key Deer refuge. Despite un-Keys like weather we had a great stay and plan on returning in the future. At no point during our stay did we say to ourselves, "I wish they had...." because everything we needed was on hand. This home was hands down the nicest rental property we have stayed in. Book with confidence.

Fully enjoyed our week at the Belmonte home. Beautiful accomodations (first class), great location (quiet but close to everything), and great canal for boaters (clean and good dockage). Everything you need to have a great time has been supplied. Capt. Ron was especially welcoming and we enjoyed meeting and chatting with him. Hope to see him next year.

My husband and i rented this house for a week and just loved it! As soon as we pulled up in front of the house we knew we were going to love it. This was our first trip to The Keys and staying in this house just made it more pleasant, we are planning our next trip and plan on staying there again, everything you need is there you really dont even need to leave the house, sitting on the screened in porch in the mornings with the nice breeze was awesome. We will be back!!!

This house has been such a blessing to our family! The moment we walked in the door, we felt as if we were at a top-notch resort. From the granite counters to the flat screen computer and (count them) 3 flat screen T.V.'s and the extemely comfortable beds with luxurious bedding! The bathrooms are gorgeous! The porch is beautiful and so relaxing.

We loved using the kayaks, playing in the game room, and going biking over to nearby Noname Key to see all the small key deer.

We were in the open water within about 5 minutes of leaving the dock. The owner has thought of everything-an extra freezer downstairs, a ladder down to the water, a gas grill on the porch, a play station, DVD player, and internet access!

Captain Ron was quick to come to our aid whenever we had any questions or needs and was very friendly and helpful. We've already booked the place for next year!

We've had a great vacation and thoroughly enjoyed this lovely waterfront home. Thanks so much Steve and Michele!
