Located in the heart of historical Hyde Park, just across the street from Shipe Park and only two miles from downtown, the Avenue G Guest House is a spacious 3BR/3BA craftsman-style house that can accomodate 7-9 people. The two-story house has been completely remodeled and features a new and contemporary look matched with the historic charm of Hyde Park.

The Avenue G Guest House is well suited for families or large parties looking for all the conveniences of home while enjoying all the benefits of downtown Austin. The ideal house for cooking, dining and entertaining, the Avenue G Guest House features a Great Room with a fully equipped kitchen, bar and living area, a large dining room with seating for six and a second living area that can serve as an additional bedroom with an adjacent full bathroom. Also on the first floor, the king master suite features a large CA King bed, a spacious bathroom with a double vanity, walk in shower, garden tub and large walk in closet. On the second floor, you'll find two bed rooms and a jack and jill bathroom. The second bedroom features large vaulted ceilings, a bunk bed with a queen and twin bed, a desk and three closets. The third bedroom features a queen size bed and a view of the back yard.

The Avenue G Guest House also features full W/D and a large backyard with an outside deck to take in the beautiful Austin weather. Also enjoy Shipe Park's tennis courts, basketball, children's playground and seasonal swimming pool just across the street. Kristen and Noel run the nearby Woodburn House Bed and Breakfast, one of Hyde Park's most treasured historical landmarks (built in 1909). To accomodate larger families, guests traveling in large groups or guests preferring longer-term corporate housing, Kristen and Noel have opened the Avenue G Guest House where guests can enjoy all the conveniences of home and the benefits of downtown Austin, while nestled in the quiet charm of historical Hyde Park.

Hyde Park is truely the "Austin Experience." The first original suburb of Austin, Hyde Park is a historical neighborhood featuring many beautifully restored homes from the early 1900's mixed with the vibrance and energy of Austin's unique spirit and culture. The proximity to downtown, UT Austin, and the parks, lakes and Hike and Bike Trail, have always attracted Kristen and Noel to Central Austin, where they've called home for more than 20 years.

Located just a mile from UT Austin, 2 miles from downtown and 3 miles to Lady Bird Lake and the Austin Hike and Bike trail, you have easy access to all the sites and experiences of downtown while enjoying the quiet, walkable surroundings of Hyde Park. Its just a short walk to dozens of fabulous restaurants in Hyde Park or The Triangle as well as local theatre, museums, grocery, bakery, wine bar and more! You just can't find a better location!

Great location but needs a little TLC

This home is in the terrific, central location of Hyde Park. It is also a great size for families with master down and bedrooms up, nice kitchen opening to the living room. The only thing missing is some attention to the property and treatment of it as a VACATION home versus a home on the market waiting to be sold.
Several key items are needing attention, such as a dishwasher which falls out of the cavity upon opening and holding open, a non functional oven, a broken microwave, and several basic kitchen tools/ items for cooking and eating in. The appliance malfunctions were brought to the attention of the owner, as altered meal preparations, and didnt receive any particular care or concern.
Another concern is the cleanliness. Very apparent a deep cleaning is needed, particularly the rugs amd flooring which were filthy.
The backyard could be decent, as the size is large but the entire lawn is completely burnt.
No "extras", personal attention, notes, etc are part of this home, so just know that going in.
Probably better suited as a corporate rental.

Thos home may present a better fit for a corporate lease.
Comparable to other VRBOs, this one does not boast any additional touches from the owners, notes, advice, etc.
