I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was very happy with the location.
The vacation rental was somewhat dirty.
The property manager was somewhat unhelpful.
Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
We have vacationed in Kiawah for 7 years & have been renting from Beachwalker for 5 years. We have stayed in several units at Shipwatch & love the layout, amenities & proximity to the beach. Typically, upon arrival we are greeted with friendly faces and enthusiastic workers. This year, I felt we were interrupting the employee from her desk work. We were early so she said she would call us when the unit was ready. At 4pm we returned to the agency, the unit was not ready, but we were given the keys. The cleaning crew was finishing up when we arrived. The furnishings are comfortable & the decor is nice. It was wonderful to have 2 furnished porches so we could sitting outside while looking at the beautiful palmettos. The cleanliness, however was disappointing. The carpets are stained,& beginning to fray,& the bed comforters did not feel clean. My kids had empty water bottles under the bed from previous renters & we had lip stick & scraps of paper under ours. The laminate flooring was sticky, so I attempted to clean it with the dirty mop that was in the pantry. There was popcorn in the seat cushions, & the bathroom floors could use a grout cleaning. It felt as if the whole unit could use a thorough cleaning. Beachwalker usually provides us w/coupons, activities, & maps to be used on the islands & in Charleston. Since it was 4th of July week, I asked if there was any info on fireworks & actitivities. The agent appeared annoyed & said she didn't know of any?? I later discovered there was a 5K, parade and several firework displays. Disappointed in Beachwalker this year.
