After visiting 20 years, very disappointed...
I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental.
I was more than happy with the location.
The vacation rental was somewhat dirty.
The property manager was adequately helpful.
Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental.
The location of the property was very nice in one of the wooded subdivision on west beach. The home was not worth the $3,000/week price though. The drawers in the kitchen and bedrooms were broken and unuseable. The home was dirty and we spent most of Saturday evening cleaning. There were no directions left for how to operate the fan in the living room or the tvs in the bedroom. Now, I know that sounds silly, but we even called maintenance and they could not figure out how to operate the fan. It was hot in the house and we could not adjust the air conditioner cool enough. Regarding the rental company, when we called to report the problems, we were treated as if the call was an inconvenience to them. Also, we requested additional linens for the pull out sofa and never received them. We also never got a return call about the fan after they told us they would contact the home owner. Finally, although the bathrooms were allegedly redone in 2012, the whole faucet assembly in the shower of the second bath had pulled loose from the wall. We also had to call the exterminator. At least they were responsive. Kiawah was Kiawah, always beautiful and restful. But I will be extra selective on my next property. I think the way to guarantee that you get an acceptable property is by word of mouth. This property looked nothing like the pictures.
