Studio with garden tub and shower, walk in closet, kitchnette, private entrance

Great South Central Austin location off South Congress and near major highways. Adorable 1/1 suite (part of duplex) has a large bedroom, huge walk in closet, and kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig single cup coffee maker. The master bath has double sinks, garden tub, and a glassed in shower area. Flat screen TV with basic local channels, Netflix play it now, and high speed internet. The studio has a separate, private entry with gated porch, but there is access to a full backyard if you choose to bring your dog (negotiable-please ask ahead). Tile floors throughout with several sisel area rugs. A professional housekeeper keeps the place immaculate and all areas are neat and super clean at all times. The queen bed is a pillow top with a 2.5' tempurpedic overlay and nice linens with a down comforter. The home is only 6 years old, has designer colors and original artwork--a very pleasant place to spend your time in Austin. Have coffee or a cocktail on the backporch before going out and enjoying our great weather!

About Carey

Carey and Dave are well traveled and both work at a large hospital in downtown Austin. Carey is from Texas and has been in Austin since 1988, Dave is from Montana and relocated to Austin to be with Carey (and enjoy mountain biking year round!). If you would like any recommendations for outdoor activities, cycling trails, parks, etc they can help out. Two small, well-behaved dogs live in the other half of the duplex and will be seen in the gated off backyard when they choose to come out their doggie door. No barking!

Why Carey chose Austin

We chose this property six years ago when the house was built because we both love cycling and wanted to be able to ride our bikes to downtown and work--20 minute leisurely ride to Town Lake, 10-15 minutes to S. Congress restaurants, Continental Club, great coffee shops and Mexican food.

What makes this studio unique

We love the location of this home and the low upkeep. Tile floors throughout keep things clean and dog friendly, vaulted ceilings make the area feel larger. The master bedroom gets plenty of light, but has 2' wooden blinds and curtains if you would like to sleep late!

Great Austin Studio in SOCO district near downtown

Arrived at a very nice studio as described in the listing with friendly owners committed to your needs and comfort. Short drive to downtown Austin and other areas of interest on South Congress. Mapping software might give you an odd way to get there when a much easier way is available. Very highly recommended and would visit again if a return to Austin happens. Many things to do within a short distance. Would recommend a visit to Hills Café when you are there.

Comfortable and full of amenities

I really enjoyed my stay. This place was perfect for the activities I had planned. The owners communicated well and quickly prior to my trip and were there to greet me upon my arrival. The studio is very cozy, clean and tastefully furnished. The bed was comfortable and lots of thoughtful amenities were provided. The overall experience was very positive. I will happily return in the future.

Pet friendly plus!!!

I selected Carye's studio for the convenient location, light, positive reviews and detailed photos (I have been led astray in the past by only a couple of photos). The studio was great—pet friendly (an important factor for my pug and I)—even a private small yard and Carye and her husband babysat one night while I attended my daughter's wedding! Immaculate, set up like an upscale hotel suite (large walk in closet-luxurious linens and extra large tub) plus thoughtful amenities like quality bath products, hair dryer, gourmet coffee maker( Keurig).

Soundproof, quiet neighborhood and I slept like a baby in the super comfy bed.

Absolutely recommended—a great experience!

This was the exact type of vacation rental that I needed in Austin. Beautifully clean studio apartment, decent neighborhood, not far from the activities that I was doing, and nice owners. Really enjoyed my stay and would certainly do it again.

In town for business over the weekend and was so fortunate to find this incredible studio to stay in. Quiet neighborhood! The studio was immaculate! So cozy and cute! And the bed was incredibly comfy! Only regret is the studio is already booked for my return next month but, I will be staying again in June. I would highly recommend staying here. The owners are very respectful of your space but VERY nice people.

What a great place to stay! Very new & clean. Very nicely maintained. Nice neighborhood. Short walk to bus stop. Owners are so nice & will do anything they can to make sure you have a nice stay. While my husband was at work with the car, I explored Austin. One of my favorite things to do was take the bus downtown to the Daily Juice to get a smoothie then I would take a walk around Town Lake, to Zilker Park, Barton Springs & back to take the bus "home". The trails are beautiful! We also enjoyed our trip to, Enchanted Rock. If you go be sure and get there early because it fills up quickly. I would definitely recommend this property.

Felt at Home!

I came in for the Austin marathon weekend and besides that being a great race, this rental helped make my recovery go fast so I could enjoy many of the sights! The property is very tidy and Carye had thought out everything to ensure I had all the comforts of home. Since I was alone, I truly appreciated her thoughtfulness and the comfortable feeling I got from the pleasant surroundings. Carye provided me great directions for taking the bus, so I didn't even need to rent a car. And the bus route is super convenient and clean; it took me everywhere I needed to go: SOCO, the Capitol, food trucks, music, shopping, etc.

When I return to Austin I will absolutely be looking to stay here again!

The list description was very accurate. The property was clean, well maintained, and adorable. Loved the art and the natural light! Also loved the huge tub! The bed was super comfy and had nice,clean linens. The owners, although we didn't meet it person, we're laid back and respectful. The rental is very close to the Famous Hill's Cafe and the SOCO Food Trucks which we really enjoyed. Overall it really felt like home! Would definitely recommend this place for an affordable, comfortable get away!

Wonderful place to stay

We had a lovely time staying at Carey ad Dave's and would definitely do it again. Everything was just as advertised ~ private entry, walkable neighborhood, plenty of storage space, dog-friendly backyard, Keurig coffee-maker with a great variety of coffee, convenient on-street parking, and best of all, it was neat and squeaky clean. We loved the variety of artwork which just added to the lovely, restful decor. It is an easy 5 minute drive to downtown Austin but when you get back here you are in a quiet residential neighborhood. Carey and David are very thoughtful and helpful and we would definitely recommend it to friends and family! We hope to return again as we don't think our two sons will be leaving this great city any time soon!
