Photos and Description of the North Conway vacation house rental
2700sqft home featuring 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom 1 mile from town and skiing

Period home with all the modern amenities… the large open kitchen is well equipped. Laundry room has a full washer and dryer. Adjoined to the family room is a small study with a wood stove which can heat the entire house. A large formal living area is perfect for entertaining or just relaxing after a long day of hiking, shopping, or skiing. And upstairs, all four bedrooms have all the comforts of home. Two of the three bath rooms are upstairs. The master bedroom has a queen size bed in a large, cathedral ceiling room. French doors open to a veranda overlooking the side fenced in yard. Two other rooms have full size beds. The last bedroom has a full size futon and can be converted for use if needed. Three of the four bedrooms have cable TV and clock radios. The entire house enjoys wireless high speed broadband. Off the study, a large three season porch connects to a deck which can be gated or opened into a large fenced in yard; perfect for Fido! In the summer or winter, you can literally walk, or ski to the Whitaker Woods 180 acre conservation property which sports groomed cross country trails in the winter and prohibits motorized vehicle always. Hike, jog, run, and/or ski right from your backdoor. The area is peaceful and highly convenient to everything mountain life can offer.

About Dan

I first climbed Mount Washington in 1969 with the cub scouts and I was hooked on the area. Since then I have visited this area almost every year since minus a military and relocation jaunt in the late 70's early 80's. I presently work in engineering and love it. As a benefit, I tend to repair / improve things myself and can respond in kind for any guests because we live less than one mile away on the weekends.

Dan purchased this house in 2010
Why Dan chose North Conway

I bought this property because it stood vacant for quite a while during the height of the recession and I kept driving by it and it grew on me therefore, I decided to buy it as an investment property. Living less than one mile away, this property made the most sense as an investment seeing I can basically walk over to tend to any issue or assist a tenant.

What makes this house unique

I love this house because of the period it was built; 1890. I have always like antiques and the thought of times gone by and this house is the perfect place to invoke these feelings. The house has that in/close to town convenience. It also is located perfectly for navigating all of the town’s locales via back roads which is very important during high visitor seasons. The best benefit is it just feels like a home!

Charming and very well-appointed

Just finished a wonderful week's vacation at this home. It is quite large (there were only 2 humans & 2 dogs - so plenty of space to lose each other!) and beautifully appointed with many thoughtful touches such as the Godiva chocolates on each bed & a variety of flavors for the Keurig. The kitchen is well-stocked with many high end items and there was plenty of wood for the woodstove. But the feature we appreciated the most was the backyard access to Whitaker Woods trails. We were able to snowshoe daily on the dog friendly trails without using the car. This was one of the nicest homes we have rented yet. Thank you, Dan. It was a great vacation!

We cant say enough good things about this property and the owner! Beautiful, immaculate home that has been maintained with lots of TLC. Surrounding property abuts the Whitaker Trials , so XC skiing and shoeshoeing is literally available out the back door. Cranmore Mtn just a few blocks away, and the heart of North Conway town is just a short mile from the home. The owners were wonderful - very interested in our comfort and very accomodating! Highly recommend this property!

Great staging location for Mt Washington Hike

A friend and I were looking for a place to stay that was close to Mt Washington. Planned to hike it the next morning, so wanted to be reasonably close for an early start after a good night's rest. Arrived late in the evening. No problem finding the house. Dan's directions were great. Went inside and was amazed at the spendor of the house. Everything was in wonderful condition. Decor was outstanding. Regret that it was only a 1-night stay.
The property location is not far from the main part of town - just a couple of side roads - perhaps 5 minutes away. Very nice location and felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. After settling in, we went into town for dinner. Lots of restaurants, shopping, etc. Be certain for ask for recommendations if you are not from the area. We ate at the 99 restaurant. Food was great.
In the morning, we got a chance to check out the property. Nice layout. Landscaping was very appealing. Large portion of the yard is fenced in. Would be great of pets. Looking forward to staying there again but for a longer stay. Take a few more friends along for a barbeque. The place is set up very nice for that.
The ride to Mt Washington was relatively short - about 20 minutes as I recall. We took the Tuckerman Ravine Trail up and back down. Conditions were icey but not too bad; no snow. Made the summit but it was slow going. Perfect end to the short vacation. Looking forward to repeating the entire experience - hope to stay at the house again ths winter and do some cross-country skiing, and go for a winter hike.

Thank you Dan.
Pete
